I think this has got some references to "A Starry Night" by Van Gogh. Not quite a love song but trying to understand the artist at the time. "Underneath the swirling skies for all to see" obvisious reference to the giant moving skies in the painting. Maybe a love for the artists work? Van Gogh also did alot of self portraits "Where I could see your face" and a starry night was painted from memory while Van Gogh was in a mental institution. |
