Yes, but he would have been thinking something as he wrote it and would have written it for a purpose, not purely so we could guess at what it means. Artists say that their songs are "whatever us listeners want them to be" because they are too lazy to explain their songs at every interview, and who can blame them?? I think this song is about Satan, it makes a lot of sense. I think walking on him refers to selling your sole to satan, and "walking on him" to get to where we want to be. |

I always thought it was a love song, and then i read th ethings about it being about drugs, and i kinda thought it couldve been about htat, but thinking again i think it is a love song comparing Kurt's love for Tobi Vale to his 'love' for drugs. think about it. all the ideas about it being a love song make sense, all the ideas about it being a drugs song make sense... aunt fe fe, why do you hate nirvana? |

The line "love you so much it just turns to hate" means that she was only bad to kurt because she loved him so much [who wouldn't?]. I think the line "someday you will ache like I ache" is to the public, saying that we will feel her pain for the loss of Kurt later if we don't now, because he was that important. And torrance, leave Courtney alone. She may appear like a bitch to you, but I believe that Kurt genuinely loved her, and that's good enough for me. this song is blatantly about Kurt. i first heard this song today, but ever since i first properly heard SLTS 6 years ago I have been obsessed with Nirvana. I'm not going to lie, it made me cry a bit. this song perfectly sums up how I feel about Kurt, and it is definatly the best Red Hot Chili Peppers song. it shows how much of a genius Kurt was, because he made an impression on such a starts life. oh, and 'ima jenius', 2 things:- 1) GENIUS....note the spelling. 2) this song was on an album released in September 1995, so its PROBABLY not about something that happened on October 12 1999 |

this song could be about kurt's inferiority complex; the first four lines could be about seeing the person you're trying to impress, and her ignoring you, or jsut not noicing you, as she walks past [or 'moves through'] so you hide 'please put this side up' and get all embarrassed, and wait for her to go 'can we show our faces now?' the line 'i'm not intreresting, she's not turning green,' the turning green bit could mean 'she's not getting jealous', or 'she's not impressed', and it seems shameful because he's opening himself up to get close to her, and she's not having any of it, and so he is embarrased or ashamed. We all know that Kurt liked Tobi Vail from Bikini Kill, but for some reason she only liked him as a friend, and he could have exaggerated tis theme to encompass teenage inferiority in general. As usual, i'm only suggesting this. i don't want to say it's definately about that in case someone thinks im wrong and decides to start a big slagging match about whos mother performs the most acts of fellatio |

kissing open sores is a way of exchanging bodily fluids, and could probably result is the passing of blood diseases such as hepititis and HIV. This could be a referance to sex with someone who is battered and broken [open sores]. Kurt was kinda obsessed with bodily fluids and gross stuff like that, including childbirth [nevermind and incesticide's covers have babies on them, and in utero's liner is obviously very pregnancy themed.] The lyrics to drain you can also be interpreted along this vein. and why do we need to try and stop figuring out his songs? its all we have left!! |

i think this song could be about loving someone who you think is cheating on you ["am i the only one?"]. the person feels raped as they are being used by the person they are in love with. that person doesnt return their love, so they are "raping" him by breaching his trust. i dont believe that kurt was murdered. less than a month before he died he tried to kill himslef with a heroin overdose. according to the journals, he had contemplated suicide as a teenager. a number of his songs have lyrics oin them refering to suicide, eg one version of sappy includes the line "and if you killyourself, you will make them happy". Let's face it, if it wasn't suicide, and no-oe had killed him ,then he would have ODed anyway. this world was not ready for something so beautiful. let's hold onto the music. its all we have left. However, if i am prived wrong, and someone can conclusively prove who killed kurt, then PLEASE give me their address, because i will kill them with my bare hands. honestly. |

this song is really good. the lyrics are deep. it's blantantly about suicide. i think the line "i traced the cord ... in at all" is about adam trying to electricute himself, and i especially like the Nirvana reference, because CAYA is about teenage acceptance, so it show us a motivation for Adam's suicide. [by the way, in the liner notes of enema, one of hte thnks is to "Kurt", that's Cobain, rite?] and Bodester, just because the guitar isnt distorted, it DOESNT MEAN THIS IS A BAD SONG!!! |

i think this song is about suicide. bear with me on this.... 'wake up ....little make up' could be about making yourself look your best for when you die. 'i don't think you trust ....suicide' could be about whether one has the right to take one's own life, with 'self-righteous' simply meaning to have the right. [thnking about it, it could be him having the argument with himself] now, this bit is even more tenuous [sp.?], but it kinda fits: in the lines 'i cry...to die", 'angels' could refer to himself, and the line could mean that he is sad, but death is the best option. ok, now for the religious bit... 'why have you forsaken me?' could mean that he feels abandonned by God [let's face it, it couldn't mean much else], and 'father into ....spirit' could mean that he is sorry for whatever he has done to make God 'abandon' him, and is ready to embrace Christianity in death. [i'm not religious, and i don't know that much about christianity, so im probably wrong] this might have already been said, but i'm not reading 21 pages of messages, when most of them are long insulting matches started beacuse someone spelled something wrong. i'd be interested to hear what you think of my idea, thanks!! |
