i cannot handle listening to this song. It's just...heartbreaking. Which is odd because it's a hopeful message. It's the way his voice is so quiet and calm. He's not ordering her to stay with him, he's asking. He's saying "i love you so much that i want what's best for you, even if it's not me. so leave me if you must, but i'm willing to work on it for you." It's just...it makes my chest and head ache when i hear it. |

| the train under water is a subway in new york that connects the mainland and staten island? or something like that. I'm absolutely clueless as to the geography of new york city seeing as i've never been anywhere near it, but he said something to that effect at the ann arbor concert. The subway itself is a tunnel that goes underneath water (the ocean or river or whatever is over there). | |

well, Lua means moon in a lot of languages. which makes sense with the lyrics. It's about things that happen in the night, the affect that the moon has on people. Nighttime makes people do things they wouldn't normally do. |
