Pitty – Equalize Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I have a translation for anyone who doesn't speak Brazilian/Portugese: If I sometimes get distracted If I'm not careful for a second I transport my self closer to you I just can't be left on my own That smell soon comes to me That comes from you to me In a perfect flux While you talk and kiss me At the same time I see Your colors in your eyes close I swing slowly Like when you rock me The rhythm goes easily As if it was rehearsed And I think I really like you Just the way you are I'm going to equalize you In a frequency only know by us I turned you into this song So I can record you on me I love this sleepy face of yours And your voice timbre That tells me really crazy things And nearly makes me laugh to death When you try to convince me That I only stayed here cause we're both one of a kind It's like you've already had My manual of instructions Because you descover my dreams Because you know what I like And cause when you hold me The world spins slowly And time is just mine And nobody captures the scene Suddenly it turns into a Whole slow motion movie And I think I really like you Just the way you are I'm going to equalize you In a frequency only know by us I turned you into this song So I can record you on me I'm going to equalize you In a frequency only know by us I turned you into this song So I can record you on me |
Billy Joel – All About Soul Lyrics | 18 years ago |
All About Soul refers to the purity of heart and the unwillingness to go down emotionally. |
Billy Joel – A Minor Variation Lyrics | 18 years ago |
My interpretation is that Billy Joel is saying that the difference between moods weather very happy or really down, like the speaker in this song, is only a minor variation. He is saying that your always yourself but your mood is what varies; so, if the speaker doesn't seem like himself it not a complete change but just a minor variation. |
Peter Gabriel – Shock The Monkey Lyrics | 18 years ago |
As always I look at lyrics in a poetic sense; so this is my analysis of the symbolisms. I think that the monkey is a symbol for the basic mamalian self and the hedonistic desires. The shocking of the monkey represents multiple things: first the shock is the semi-literal sence of electricution (semi-literal, meaning that the humanity hates and hurts itself for taking part in hedonistic behaviors). Another meaning for shock is for the surprise that the "monkey" feels when it finds that it's needs are not being met in the culture. Hedonism: an ethical system that evaluates the pursuit of pleasure as the highest good. so technically the idea that the song is about masterbation fits into the symbalism. |
Bruce Springsteen – Secret Garden Lyrics | 18 years ago |
What I find really funney is that most people associate this song with the movie Jerry Maguire and think that the song is about themes similar to the movie despite the fact that the song was around years before the movie. The song is about a PROSTITUTE. Read the lyrics, it's obvious. see how the lyrics describe her. She'll let you in her house If you come knockin' late at night (even if you come over late she'll let you in to her house.) She'll let you in her mouth If the words you say are right (If you ask nicely you can have a BJ) If you pay the price She'll let you deep inside. (Self-explanitory) But there's a secret garden she hides (But you won't get her love) Come on ppl The Boss always hides a secret message in his songs why should this one be different. |
Dark Tranquillity – Day To End Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Its about the strong desires to be with some one that the speaker cannot be with (and the difficulty of ignoring them). |
Billy Joel – Travelin' Prayer Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This is an interesting Billy Joel song, it has a bluegrass feel to it; it is one of my favorite BJ songs, most people only know 2 or 3 songs from his Piano Man album but if you listen to it from begining to end it is a marvolous album and this song is a wonderful start. The topic of this perticular song is that of a traveler who's prayers are not for his own safety and help along his route but for his Baby. |
Mudvayne – Coal Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think this song is about someone who has been through someting traggic (probable attacked physicaly or emotionaly or both). The person know feels as though they can not express them selves; "My soul simply won't bleed". They also feel themselves unable to handle their life;"I lay awake at night my body trembles, wrapped with vines, each tie that binds represents another dream demise. Oh fuck! I need a handle in my life, I know that there is no esacape for me." |
Charlie Brown Jr – Confisco Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Amazing songs, one of my favorite. It's about someone who's job is to confiscate things. |
Pitty – Admiravel Chip Novo Lyrics | 19 years ago |
4 things: 1. Some lyrics need to be added to the end: "Não senhor, Sim senhor, Não senhor, Sim senhor Mais la vem eles novamente eu sei que vou fazer reinstalar o sistema." 2. I can't believe know one else posted anything. Pitty is Fucking awsome. I know songs in languages other then english don't appeal to many people but this song is great even if you don't know what is being said. 3. The best translation I could do (sorry if it's incorrect, I'm not fluent yet): In the system somebody disconfigured me Where are my robot eyes? I am not a wise person, I had not perceived (that I was) I always found that it was alive Screws and fluid in place of a joint Until it was found that here beats a heart Nothing is organic, it is all programmed And I finding this, I was freed But here they come again and I know what I go to make: To reinstall the system: Think! Speak! Buy! Drink! Read! Vote, don’t forget! Use! Do! Hear! Say! Have! Live! Like and live! No Sir, Yes Sir, No Sir, Yes Sir They come again, and know that I go to make and to reinstall the system. 4. This song is about how the government wants everybody to be robot like and do as commanded. And how some people try to resist. |
Mudvayne – Silence Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I agree that it is about cencership, but I also think it's about the media in general. For example the lines: "We're not buying your product but you sell it to us preaching silence! Insult me in my home Where you were never invited " to me seem to be about advertising. |
Nirvana – Breed Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"We don't have to breed We can plant a house We can build a tree I don't even care We can have all three" Nobody on this sight seems to get these lyrics so from an English Education Major's these lyrics, like all of Nirvana's is very symbolic. Planting a house means starting a family. By saying that your planting a house it's a way of saying that the house or family as a house is a living, breathing, and growing thing. Building a tree on the hand feeds off of the era in which the song was written in which all was about technology, so building a tree is a way of saying that every thing is being produced for finacial gain, even nature is being manufactured. The lyrics are presented in such a way as that the writer is at a crossroads in his life and he can't chose a direction. The lyrics are filled with the words "she said" which leads me to feel as though the undiciding man is being pushed by a female, be it a girlfried, a wife, a mother, or just a friend, to make this dicision. The desision is whether he wants to Plant a house, Build a tree or all three. In my oppinion the third choice is "We don't have to breed." Which means that he could chose not to start a family (plant a house) or buy into the finacial gain of building a tree. |
