| David Bowie – Andy Warhol Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| David Bowie actually knew Andy Warhol, from my understanding he was invited to Andy's studio a few times(as were many other celebrities). | |
| David Bowie – Slip Away Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Watch the Reality Tour DVD, it has a nice introduction to the song which actually includes a clip from the show. He did an awesome job(as always), made it really dramatic. | |
| Depeche Mode – Somebody Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
But when I'm asleep I want somebody Who will put their arms around me And kiss me tenderly Though things like this Make me sick In a case like this I'll get away with it Aaaahhhhh.... What it means is he's usually sick of that romantic lovey-dovey nonsense but in this situation(if it is that SOMEBODY) then he'll make the exception and will actually want to be hugged/kissed/etc. |

| Wow. That was funny but way off. | |
| David Bowie – Oh! You Pretty Things Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think I see what you mean. It could imply coming out of the closet which would explain "Don't you know you're driving your Mamas and Papas insane." It could also just be about literal Homosuperiors which are mutants who are evolved beyond the status of Homosapiens. This would fall in with a few other songs and ideas David Bowie likes to shoot out sometimes. | |
| David Bowie – Word on a Wing Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Bowie is calling to God but he is definately not saying that. First off, it is referring to Jesus because of the "you're born once again for me" which is bringing up how God gave his only son to the world, and Jesus is technically 1/3 God so he is being born to the world. Bowie is saying how he is willing to change whatever he is doing for God and how he doesn't have to question God's will. He is just asking for a slot in God's will because despite his beliefs he still is semi-selfish and wants to be with God. | |

| David Bowie – Quicksand Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I am shocked and appauled at the fact that no one has written a single comment for this song. First off, this song is amazing and I often feel like this. The song seems to be about Bowie focusing on only one person himself. The world revolves around him, and this is because he is not interested in the rest of the world. He is confused by the way the world works, by the way society thinks, the concept of religion, it all is confusing and these thoughts are pulling his mind slowly towards insanity like quicksand. The ending says to just give up and do not think of these things and to not fool yourself with false ideals because you're only hurting yourself. Everything will be clarified in due time(death). | |
| David Bowie – Station to Station Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| It's obvious it's about cocaine, but I think the actual meaning of the song is that he has fallen in love and because of this he has figuratively snapped out of cocaine's mind control and wants this special someone, yet it is too late for him. The Duke is dying. The European cannon would be death coming for him. | |
| David Bowie – Time Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I believe this song is about nothing more than knowing that time ends all things. Time is compared to a predator(he's waiting in the wings), a director (his script is you and me), and a few other things. Bowie is just saying that any second now he expects time to come and get him (Oh God I'm still alive). Then towards the end of the song he changes it and says "take your time" but I do not think he means you have the time to take. Instead I think he means use the remainder of your time before it's too late. At the end I think it's about someone dying; "Perhaps you're smiling now, smiling through this darkness But all I had to give was the guilt for dreaming" That concludes my interpretation. |

| David Bowie – Aladdin Sane (1913-1938-197?) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Aladdin Vein was going to be the original title of the track but Bowie thought the meaning would be too obvious then. | |
