Beautiful song. I think this is all about two soulmates, lovers, friends, who despite their passion for one another know further attempts at a relationship are in vain. He says, "next time I promise we'll be perfect," next time, in a different life, under different circumstances we would have worked out. But life isn't perfect and therefore neither can their love ever be. Perfect is impossible. |
