| Hall and Oates – Maneater Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Everytime I hear this song I think about Baba Yaga. She, in Slavic mythology, is a hideous man-eating female demon. |

Yeah... They're not English. |

| Death from Above 1979 – My Love Is Shared Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Still think it's about rehab. | |

"butchering for a king he believes in though he’s never seen" God? |

| Mindless Self Indulgence – Dicks Are For My Friends Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| What's with the English accent in this song? | |
| Mindless Self Indulgence – 1989 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Well, 1989 was the year Nicolae Ceausescu, Romanian dictator, was taken out of power and killed. It was also the year the Berlin wall came down. Maybe there's a connection between those events and this song. "Goodbye 1989 I wanna be the one in control." ?!? See what I mean? Or maybe it's about a man retiring? Meh, I don't know. |
|
| Kashmir – Ruby Over Diamonds Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This is probably my favorite song in the entire world. The lyrics are pretty self-explanatory. |
|
| Doves – Black And White Town Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I believe the song (in reference to the video) is exposing the "chav" culture in the U.K. in a patronizingly superior manner. | |
| SikTh – How May I Help You? Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Woah! I never even considered the schizophrenia thing. But now that I look at it...it makes a lot of sense. | |
| Ugly Casanova – Barnacles Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I thought Ugly Casanova was a 'clean' period for Isaac. | |
| Ugly Casanova – Diamonds on the Face of Evil Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| It's also a dance. | |
| Ugly Casanova – Diamonds on the Face of Evil Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this is actually based off of "Ciuleandra," which is a Romanian folk song. | |
| Eisley – Just Like We Do Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
The way I see it, someone is talking to their lover about how there are people out there are just plain haters. And they see through it because they're in love, and they're not alone. People like them still exist. Maybe...? |

| Death from Above 1979 – My Love Is Shared Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is about rehab. | |
| Death from Above 1979 – Pull Out Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| It would make sense, though. | |
| Death from Above 1979 – Black History Month Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think is about how everything in the world is changing. "Your mother and father are leaving." -Maybe they mean divorce? Divorce 'back in the day' wasn't as common as it is now. "Do you remember back when this city was...?" -Maybe they mean that most everything on this planet is corrupt and no good? kdfhgdfg I don't know. I'm curious as to why they named this song "Black History Month." |
|
| Death from Above 1979 – Pull Out Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song is about ejaculation. | |
| Beep Beep – Giggle Giggle Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| THEY** even. =( | |
| Beep Beep – Giggle Giggle Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Voyeuristic, indeed. But that's what Beep Beep are good for. They're amazingly perverted, yet, they're almost make it tasteful. | |
| Beep Beep – The Threat of Nature Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think what the song writer is trying to get across is that in today's world, it's all about earning the all-mighty dollar. No-one cares about nature anymore, and it seems he's almost mocking that. | |
| Beep Beep – Chewy Poison Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Haha. What a weird 'song'. I think the person is taking the poison because they think it's candy. The person that gave it to them, I think, wants to 'misuse their body'. |
|
| Eisley – Silver Bugs Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is about a loved one leaving. Not necessarily "break-up" leaving, but going away for period of time. The person whose point of view this song tells is trying to tell themselves it's okay that the person isn't near, this person will be back in time. | |
| Eisley – Sleepyhead Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
To me, this song is about someone sleepwalking. They're dreaming that they're in their own house, but they're really in a fictional world they made for themself in their mind. They walk downstairs to check out what they've heard, maybe. As they walk do so, they pray to make the 'monster' go away, but it doesn't work. What I don't understand is the second verse. "Sinking down upon dirt ground"? Maybe they went outside, in the dirt? The falling and running part is, I think, them seeing someone they know. They're trying so very hard to communicate with them. But they can't seem to get their attention. I don't know. |
|
| Eisley – Marvelous Things Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
When I first listened to this song, I thought about 'Alice In Wonderland'. "I followed a rabbit..." Maybe the narrorator is describing a dream she had that was very AIW-esque. |
|
| Eisley – Lost at Sea Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think it's about two people lost at sea (obviously). Though, they're not scared like most other people WOULD be in that situation. She's happy to know that he's there with her; that she's not alone. Maybe since she's been through such an adventure with this guy, she realized that she loves him even more than she did when they set sail? I don't know. | |
| Eisley – Head Against the Sky Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think this song (like 'Golly Sandra') is about a mother/father/adult talking to a child. They're noticing so many things they love about the child, and how they've become who they are. "I always screw up, I wonder how you sing to me." -I've made a lot of mistakes, but you still love me. "I've watched you grow up child, You have made me proud." -Again - I've watched you progress into a young adult and I've very proud of you. Just my take on the song. |
|
| Eisley – Golly Sandra Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Yeah, I agree with americanmusic. "Golly, Sandra, you've grown up really crazy Have I been too denying of you?" -Wow! You've grown up a lot. You've done a lot of bad things. Is it my fault? |
|
| The Receiving End Of Sirens – Dead Men Tell No Tales Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Of course it's about Ben leaving. Not only did he write a song in response, but the signs are obvious. "We thought your arms were tied behind your back, But elastic bands tied your hands." -They though they could trust him and that everything was copasetic. But he abandoned them. "Left in the wake we man our own driftwood orphanage." -Orphanage meaning the band. Maybe they referred to the group as that because they were 'leaderless' (the frontman of the band left). "He punctured holes in the floorboards, to flood the bow just in time to bow out." -Maybe he messed things up and left without making an effort to help resolving some of the issues. "Abandon ship. Mayday, Mayday Swim towards shore. Our captain is overboard." -They were in distress and not sure what to do. That's just my take on the song, I could be (most likely) completey wrong. |
|
| The Smiths – Suffer Little Children Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| And yes, Kez, Myra Hindley died of respiratory failure in 2002. | |
| The Smiths – Suffer Little Children Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Morrissey wasn't giving all the 'credit' of the murders to Hindley. "Oh, whatever he has done, I have done" is 'her' agreeing that she had something to do with the murders. Nowhere does he imply that it was all her idea. | |
| Brand New – Play Crack the Sky Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I always thought that "I need you like water in my lungs" meant he doesn't need her. Because, of course, you don't actually need water in your lungs. | |
| Brand New – The Shower Scene Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Hence the name "The Shower Scene". | |
| Brand New – The Shower Scene Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song, supposedly, is about how Jesse Lacey caught John Nolan (formally of TBS, now of Straylight Run) in the shower with his (Lacey's) girlfriend. | |
| Eisley – Marvelous Things Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| incu and driftwood21, Eisley are named after "Mos Eisley" (if you are familiar with Star Wars, you know what that is). Mos Eisley was their original name, but they changed it in fear that they might be sued by the creators. | |
