sí se puede is "yes, we can" but its not literal. it was used as a motto by the united farm workers. the co-founder, dolores huerta, supposedly came up with it, but i dont know how true that really is. like i said, its not literal. "yes, its possible" would be more accurate, but its been taken out of context so many different times, that it just doesnt mean the same did at one point.
libertad is freedom and tierra means Earth.
whilst i wont get into subjective meaning and so on with everyone here, thats just for anyone who cares to debate it. |

i see some of the other meanings, but i personally think its about evolution.
I got what I came for. = he adapted, found what he needed i.e. food.
Emerged beneath the sun/ To be a man. = quite obviously, he came from the water as whatever he was, then grew and evolved to become a man.
this is just my thoughs, no more or less right then any other interpretation. |
