Pearl Jam – I Am a Patriot Lyrics

My God. What history books do you read? Yeah, the United States had nothing whatsoever to do with saving England and France from the Germans and nothing to do with saving Australia and New Zealand from Japan. And of course we had nothing to do with the downfall of Communism in the USSR. I suppose Tanzania is responsible for that. |

Factorygirl got it right. It was originally about Anita Pallenberg before Jagger got hold of it and changed most of the lyrics. |

I didn't attack him because he doesn't like the song. I attacked him because he seems to consider defending yourself against murderers to be some kind of crime. It was too harsh, though, I agree. Maybe he just missed the point of the song. |

Right, wwb. That's the deeper meaning here, I think. Making a few obvious references to drugs doesn't necessarily make the entire song about drugs as sirdon has suggested. Maybe he's right though, it's not nearly as ridiculous a stretch to say this is a drug song as the stretches I've seen on other song explanations. |

Rollingstoneschick.. I found quotes by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards that both state that the song was written as a parody of songs sung at Jewish weddings. Keith.."We cut it as a comedy track." Mick.."The song had somehow begun as a joke, a parody of songs played at Jewish weddings." |

Good grief, there I go again. I shouldn't have put it that way. Sorry about that. I just disagree. I think Jagger is a better lyricist than you give him credit for. |

The Rolling Stones – All Down The Line Lyrics

The lyrics of this song aren't anything special and that's the point, I think. Good ol' rock n roll--nothing fancy. You're right that Dylan and the Beatles, for the most part wrote better lyrics, but I a lot of the Stones lyrics are great. They've written great lyrics in well over a hundred songs. Maybe you just don't understand them. |

Maybe you need to read a book about a goat. Or better yet, a book about anything. A history book for starters, and a lesson on how to write a normal sentence wouldn't hurt. The wars in Iraq, especially the first one, were started by Saddam Hussein. In both cases Hussein had every oppurtunity to avoid conflict but chose not to. I can't for the life of me figure out why morons like you insist on defending murderers. Actually, maybe I do know why. Maybe it's the fact that you understand absolutely nothing about what's really going on in the world. |

Oh for God's sake. Terrorists morally superior? You assholes wouldn't feel that way if they'd blown away someone you care about. You obviously don't give a damn about your fellow Americans.I find that sickening. These pigs we're fighting are laughing at you and they be more than happy to blow you up too and piss on your grave. |

The "Doctor" was actually a drug dealing art gallery owner named Robert Fraser who did indeed supply the rich and famous with drugs. He was arrested and charged with drug possession during the 1967 police raid on Keith Richards' Redlands home. |

Led Zeppelin – The Crunge Lyrics

The "Crunge" is a name the band made up for a dance that could be done to this song. Page says they actually considered putting the steps to the dance on the album cover. Also, page originally recorded a version of this song in 1964 but did not release it. The book "Led Zeppelin: Heaven and Hell" is a great source of Zep info. It describes every single song the band ever recorded, most of them with quotes from band members. It also has an almost complete list of their concerts with set lists and interesting info about the band's activities at any given time. It also has a lot of information about Zeppelin bootlegs and different memorabilia and a very interesting interview with Jimmy Page. Also loads of pictures never before seen.
The idiot who insulted John Paul Jones obviously has no understanding of Led Zeppelin's music, or music period for that matter. He only notices the flash of lead guitar and vocals. He's not capable of listening any deeper than that. |

Questioning the government is indeed patriotic and the right to is part of what makes this a great country. The problem is that most people like Mr. Creamy aren't questioning, they're criticizing. That would be fine too if they actually tried to do anything to change things, which the great majority of them do not. Also, what I mean when I tell people to "love it or leave it" is that maybe they should see how truly awful the living conditions in many other countries is. Maybe then they can return with a better appreciation. |

You're calling me uneducated and you spelled every other word in your post wrong. I never said all Muslims were murderers. I did say that no Muslim country has ever contributed anything to the benefit of mankind. That might not really be true, so maybe I should've left that out. If you had any sense at all you would have understood that part of what I said was in DEFENSE of decent Muslims. Terrorists have killed, and still are killing, more Muslims than anyone else. Meaning, they're killing more Muslims than they are killing anyone else AND that they are killing more Muslims than anyone else is. |

That's not right. Mick and Bianca have tried to take credit for helping Keith kick heroin but in truth they did very little. In fact, after Keith got his act together, he says that Mick privately wished he was a junkie again because Mick had gotten used to being the sole leader of the band and resented Keith's new input. And why wouldn't he resent it? After all he knows deep down that Keith is a much better pure musician than himself. Keith has more emotion and "realness" in his pinky toe than Mick has in his entire body. |

And someone said it was written by a heroin addicted Keith? That's way off too. Keith didn't begin using heroin until about 2-3 years after this song was written. Not to mention the fact that he didn't write the lyrics. It also has nothing to do with Vietnam. |

I can't agree that this album sucks, I think it's a fantastic album but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I do agree that this is probably the best song on the album. "Young Lust", "One of My Turns", "Nobody Home" and especially "In the Flesh" (not sure about the question mark) are also excellent songs. |
