Sister Hazel – All For You Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree that it's about a friend who is now a bf or gf, and I think that the "All my roads, they lead to you" part in the first verse is talking about how you keep denying that you like your friend or that a relationship could work out, but you keep coming back to that person as the only one for you, even though it's hard to say why.

Tommy Tutone – Jenny (867-5309) Lyrics 19 years ago
I think this song is hilarious. Some guy finds a girl's phone number written on the wall saying "For a good time call 867-5309" and is convinced that she's his soulmate. It's great.

Barenaked Ladies – It's All Been Done Lyrics 19 years ago
I think of this song as showing the universality of relationships and breakups...like everything that's going on between them happened in Rome and in the West and will happen again in the future.

Train – Hopeless Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is after a breakup, and one person, we'll say the guy, is asking why it happened, and trying to deal with the fact that she doesn't want him in her life anymore even though he's very much still attached to her.

Switchfoot – The Beautiful Letdown Lyrics 19 years ago
The beautiful letdown is realizing that the world will never satisfy you... so it's a disappointment, but then it's beautiful because you see that God can satisfy you.

The Chicks – I Can Love You Better Lyrics 19 years ago
Wish I could say I hadn't been in this situation - it's a girl watching the guy she loves stay in a relationship with someone who's treating him badly, and he's too caught up in it to realize he deserves better.

Jars of Clay – Love Song For A Savior Lyrics 19 years ago
I love that this song is a call back to what faith is all about - loving Jesus. It's not just about going to church and hearing sermons, it's about having the faith of a child and desire for a deep love for Christ.

Relient K – Maybe Its Maybeline Lyrics 19 years ago
I really love the play on the "Maybe she's (/we're) born with it" idea, as far as taking responsibility for our own actions and sins.

Relient K – Failure To Excommunicate Lyrics 19 years ago
The "trusting him with authority" is talking about the principal within the context of the song... This song is talking about the tendency for Christians to judge others who don't fit their mold of a good Christian and want to "excommunicate" them from the church, but the song reminds us that it's exactly those people, the sinners and outcasts, that Jesus spent His time with, and so should we. As long as there's a heaven and Jesus loves all who believe in Him, there will be a failure for us to successfully excommunicate those from His love who we dare to deem unworthy.

Superchick – Not Done Yet Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is an inspiration to me now that I'm at college. I printed it out one night and put it on my wall to remind myself that there's always tomorrow.

Clay Aiken – Run to Me Lyrics 19 years ago
This is a man saying to a woman, I can tell you're not ready for a relationship with me because you're still recovering from the hurt and the feelings you have for someone else, but as soon as you heal, I'll be here waiting patiently...run to me.

Clay Aiken – Invisible Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it speaks about the desperation he feels when the girl he loves doesn't know he exists. The "watch you in your room" line is taken the wrong way by too many people; he can't get her to notice him, so he wishes he could see her when she was alone to learn who about who she really is and what she thinks, so that he could make a profession of love. It's a play on the word "invisible."

Clay Aiken – Measure of a Man Lyrics 19 years ago
Actually, I think the clue to the meaning is in the 5th and 6th lines. The song is talking about a man who has nothing left to give but his love, and the song's asking why the woman is demanding him to be the perfect man and sacrifice everything for her when he's standing there broken, doing the best he can.
