Hidden in Plain View – Bleed For You Lyrics 21 years ago
"And this silence strips me bare,
and your body pins me down.
I've never been so scared to breathe,
afraid to make a sound.
And all I know is you'll never let me go..
Just kick and scream, bite and bleed,
and make believe it's all a dream."

I thought about this more, and I think its from the girls perspective, and the bit where it says "And all I know is you'll never let me go.. " is about the fact that she will never be able to get rid of the memory so it will be like her abuser has some form of a hold on her forever, even years and years into her future.

I think that this song is written from the point of view of someone who's girlfriend or someone they love has been raped. The first verse is kind of describing the actual event taking place (the lyrics are "Hands tied so tight behind her neck"), and the way it kind of kills her inside, "And her spirit spills with blood onto the pavement," meaning as she bleeds and experiences this, she is losing her "spirit." The next lyrics are "a silence falls," not a siren falls, which symbolises the end of the event happening, and "everything changes," because of this terrible experience. "And everything dies, to you nothing’s enough, to you anymore," shows how she feels dead inside now and nothing means anything to her. Oh yeh and its not "I guess you bellied more," its "I guess you've gotten more."
The chorus is the person who cares about this girl saying that they would gladly suffer teh way she is, so she wouldnt have to. The next verse says "she kills herself until the image is erased," which I think means she is indulging in self destructive behaviour, maybe cutting, or drinking until she forgets what happened to her, but she cant forget because the physical evidence is always there, "the skin is bruised all along her thighs." This line is the indicator that what happened to her was definately rape. The rest of this verse is just about how she cant escape the mental images or the memory of her attacker ("from you she tries to hide"), and all she can do is sleep and be safe, because when shes concious all she can do it think about it "haunting all the time." The last bit is the guy who wrote it saying that he cant be what she needs now, because she's too damaged by what happened to trust and love the way she did, but he wishes he could accept her pain for her, even if it "tears him apart", so he could once again be everything she needed. There is also a last verse which wasnt included,
"And this silence strips me bare,
and your body pins me down.
I've never been so scared to breathe,
afraid to make a sound.
And all I know is you'll never let me go..
Just kick and scream, bite and bleed,
and make believe it's all a dream."

This also fits in with the idea of rape, I'm not quite sure whos perspective its from though, maybe the girls, or him imagining it.....?? Anyway, those are my ideas!!

Blink-182 – All of This Lyrics 21 years ago
I think maybe its about a guy who is with a girl who he cares about, but ultimately doesnt want as much as this other girl "Holly" and shes all he thinks about even though he spends night after night with probably his girlfriend ("another night with her, but I'm always wanting you"). The fact that he wants Holly to use him aswell ("use me Holly, come on and use me") points to the fact that Holly doesnt really care about him back though she would probably use him for a one night stand or fun, and hes so desperate for her, he doesnt even care and is in fact begging for it...he says that "nothing (he) knows changes (him) at all," which I think means that even though his head is telling him one thing (to stay with his girlfriend etc) it doesnt change the way he feels, and he knows if something happens with him and Holly it will "tear the world in two." well thats my interpretation...

Funeral for a Friend – Juno Lyrics 21 years ago
I read an interview with the lead singer saying that this song was about a girl who cheated on him and he was so angry at her he just wanted to hurt her really badly, and its called Juno because that is the capital of some country (alaska maybe, I've forgotten) and he felt it symbolised somewhere cold and harsh, like the state of mind he was in after he got hurt by her.
