I'm pretty sure this is a Chris Cornell demo, as it's featured on "Stolen Prayers" (as opposed to an actual Soundgarden project). Nonetheless, it's unbelievably catchy, thus meaning it rules. |

I read that during filming of "Singles", Jeff Ament gave Cornell a list of song titles, and bet him he couldn't make a song out of them. Obviously, "Spoonman" was one of the titles, and this is the song. The title might be inspired by Artis, but the song isn't directly about him (this also explains how Ament gets credit for the title in the CD booklet.) |
