I think there's a more poignant political point to be made in the second verse. The chimp in the first sends his army across the world but underneath all the hype of the might of the US Army, it is the kids of the country that are the ones that have to fight it, and they're not superhuman - they get scared like anyone else. |

The sheer irony and ignorance in the first post is astounding. The song is about witch hunts against communists and socialists. There was nothing communist about pinochet's regime, in fact he came to power in a military coup funded by the CIA in order to slaughter the left-wing government. The people who 'disappeared' and were murdered in Chile during the 70s and 80s were mainly socialists, communists, and other Marxists. |
