this song was performed by Pulaski Academy mixed choir, back when we were good anyway, we are awful now. the choir never fully recovered after amy left...she wrote and directed this song for graduation, class of 2000. it was incredible. im a choir music freak and it is still one of my favorite songs. ha...we never thought when it was performed then that it would be hunted down by some random obsessed evanescene fan and talked about by people outside of little rock, AR.

I think this song is about a struggle with money and selling out. Nobody else picked up on this, and i could be totally wrong, but i always thought that the "dollar underwater" was alluding to the cover of nirvana's nevermind. y'know, with the baby and the dollar underwater on a fish hook, and how its sybolic of nirvana not wanting to become one of those disposable teen pop bands. |

if you havent gotten this b4 now READ THE FRIGGIN BOOK!!!!!!! i read it about a year ago, lent it to a friend, and she lost it. but i still think about the book almost every day. no one has really explained it so i will take the liberty:
its what simon birch is based on, but SOOOOOOO much better. pretty much owen sees the date he is going to die years before it happens, and he spends all his time preparing for that day. he finds that everything he is was created by God for a purpose to fullfill his life's meaning on this one day

i did a peice of art based on this song, two, actually. well one was just a VW beetle and i was bored with it so i added it, the other one was called "They fall from your hands back to the ground" and it was a picture of a dying flower. the ground was filled with leaves that were all lyrics of songs that have meant a lot to me, and there was a small flower springing up under it. it was supposed to be about how the big flowers suffering and dying will eventally lead to the little flowers growth. but everyone gave me a weird look when i tried to expalin it. i know this is obviously a love song but i try to get the non love song meanings since in kind of asexual |
