ok.....about the "inbalance" today, a LOT of what is complained about is NOT racial, but class related. There are actual racial issues with things like racial profiling in certain places, but job discrimination? Not buying it. You see way too many influential black people in management positions and high paying jobs and whatnot and also many broke ass "crackas". The other side many hardcore liberals don't mention. I do think the "war on drugs" is bullshit for many reasons. There are double standards on both sides. A white kid living in an inner city can testify to that, as TODAY more black on white crime happens than vice versa, because white people have been taught to be publicly ashamed of racism, while "thugs" think hating whitey is not hypocritical in the least. These "thugs" are often are in the same situation as poor whites/asians/indians/etc. Not "oppressed", just assholes. The words "cracka" and "nigger" are not the same.....the rappers who keep "the n word" around and the white execs who push that culture are the reason it is around. People will always stereotype groups by their more ignorant members. Chris Rock even said "there are black people and there are niggers". (or extending that....white people/crackas/white trash, women/bitches, etc) If not for this "thug" culture and those fans who are generally proud of ignorance, and spout "nigga" this and "nigga" that, the n word would not be so prevalent, and would fade into the distance. (Do you hear racist terms like "jungle bunny" now? No because EVERYONE stopped using it in public.) I'm NOT an idealist. I just think black nationalist politics are often as one sided as white nationalist politics. Especially in regards to confusing "have" and "have-not" with "black" and "white". I'm speaking of the present, not the past. |

| Tupac Shakur – Changes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| because whether he "wanted" or "needed" things like food (obviously needed), the point was the methods used to get those "needs"........if he was 16 or 17, theft was not a necessary mean to those ends. All he needed to do was bust his ass harder looking for a job rather than taking the easy way out and robbing someone. | |
| Tupac Shakur – Changes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| So, you're saying he was too young to apply for jobs? I'm just trying to understand. | |
| Tupac Shakur – Changes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"People who say he contradicted himself or don't understand why he was the greatest, take some time out to listen to more of his music." OK, so what about these 2 lines which are VERY contradictory: "my stomach hurts so I'm lookin' for a purse to snatch" "And I ain't never did a crime I ain't have to do" Most people I've known to steal are too lazy to even attempt job searching or just didn't care to enough to push that hard. |

| Kid Rock – Amen Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I do like the part about "And how can we seek salvation when our nation's race relations Got me feeling guilty of being white" I shouldnt feel guilty for shit. Some of our ancestors also fought to FREE the slaves, so this condescending attitude towards white people like we owe something is bullshit. |
|
| Kid Rock – Amen Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
To the guy above, you like Trading Yesterday.....I half wonder if anything saying "Fuck Off" is too "mean" for you because that emo shit is pussy music. Just because someone is aggressive and isn't a pussy doesn't mean they can't feel something, also. Your comment = fail. Also, I love Kid Rock, but I don't like his religious songs, because I think the Judeo-Christian God is just as real as Allah, Zeus or the Flying Spaghetti Monster and he, like many "Christians" probably would not believe it so hard if he grew up in a nation with a different dominant religion. Which is why I'm tired of having "Jesus" shoved down my throat by people falsely claiming to be more "righteous" or "moral" than me. |

| The White Stripes – Icky Thump Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"americans come from everywhere. however, the original white americans took the country from native americans. those white americans want to drive out foreigners, even though they are themselves." Noone wants to "drive out foreigners". It's about having an orderly process of legal immigration. If you believe it's only about hating "immigrants", you show you haven't even bothered to listen to the other side. Your "opinion" is stupid. I don't care if you support open borders or "undocumented immigrants". Just listen to BOTH sides like an adult if you want anyone whose not some stoner/punk/pc liberal to take you seriously, mandarinbaby |

| Tupac Shakur – Changes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| hey, retard. 3084. take your spam elsewhere. you came here to pick on rap but you're also making metal fans look fucking stupid, also. lol. if you don't have anything semi-intelligent to say with your half functioning brain, shut the fuck up with the spam, bitch. nobody wants to scroll through that mindless 3 year old shit for a whole page......retard. | |
| The White Stripes – Icky Thump Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| And more LEGAL immigrants here come from Mexico than from anywhere else. | |
| The White Stripes – Icky Thump Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Mexico's laws on immigration make ours look way tolerant. | |
| The White Stripes – Icky Thump Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Having immigration laws is not just a "white America" thing. That is a liberal myth. Most countries have some kind of laws regarding this. Plus, many non-white Americans including legal immigrants oppose illegal immigration. Singling out "white America" is mindless liberal crap. (Don't get me wrong. I'm not some gungho conservative by a longshot.) We have these laws to reduce the risk of overpopulation by controlling the numbers within the nation and to keep out criminals and disease and such. Noone is complaining about "immigrants". That is another liberal myth. They complain about illegal aliens. The people they keep calling "anti-immigrant" support legal immigration. The left ignores that part of the opposition's argument too often. Even if you are pro-illegal, you have to LISTEN to your opposition, in order to be taken seriously. "White Americans, what? Nothing better to do? Why don't you kick yourself out You're an immigrant too? " The line is beyond retarded for the reasons i have stated. If you're pro-illegal, at least sound like you've listened to the other side like a mature adult. |

| Black Flag – White Minority Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i know the comment im replying to is 3.5 years old, but let me say this to anyone who agrees: SO many white people now in the media and everywhere else bend over backwards not to offend minorities, nowadays, it's ridiculous. With little recognition. Then, if say, I go to a minority friend's house, I can expect to hear all sorts or racial comments by parents/family/etc. Racism against black people does exist, but to blame "white people" as a whole is ignorant as FUCK. I can only wonder how many will bend over backwards for us, if we do become a minority. The only racism they care to attack now is against their own and the "black culture" and media doesn't even tell them hating white people is a bad thing. Hell, if anything, they encourage it, like it's their right to do so, because of the past that noone today has any control over. If a black guy challenges this, he's often called an Uncle Tom. A white guy tries to bring up anti-white racism, he's hounded by the "enlightened" PC police as a racist. You can have 80 underground rappers attacking racism from the minority standpoint, but if even one white guy has one out of a billion songs addressing the other end, he's "racist"(?). Granted most of the violence is black on black, now, but with black and white, guess which side has a greater percentage of victims? Oh, I can't say that. Shock! If black progressives and white liberals would stop having such double standards, for bigotry, maybe....just maybe, they would win over more than very PC white guilt libtards. Look, I hate the Nazis and genocidal racists as much as anyone, but I do agree with the meaning I'm taking from this song. |
|
| Danzig – White Devil Rise Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I know. People in general need a scapegoat. Some people call themselves "progressive", but just reverse their bigotry towards the majority groups, rather than minorities. I mean, there is just as much bullshit among black progressives as there is among bigoted white conservatives. Most talks of "white privilege" are so outdated and ignore the impact of black people on much of society in the last 10 or more years. A large part of the "underground hip-hop" movement, for example, that's trying to promote messages to counter the gangsta stuff, promotes bullshit political messages, with hardcore black nationalist views. "White privilege" is not as big as they make it out to be. Like I said, I'm glad a nonracist has the cahones to address this kind of crap. |
|
| Danzig – White Devil Rise Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Not every white person now can be blamed for the past and the actions of a few. Many of us are victims of poverty, also, and hate the same government. | |
| Danzig – White Devil Rise Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Cool song. Before anyone jumps to say this is racist, let me say this. You have 20 billion songs attacking racism by white racists or attacking "the pro-white system". Exaggerated like fucking hell. Not many in music have the balls to attack the black racists like Louis Farrakhan, who this song is about. This song is supposedly about what would happen if some white people responded to the racist black Muslim shit with a war. Like saying.... "We didn't do shit to you, but if you wanna get pissy, we'll show you bigots what these white devils can do, and we got the numbers advantage, assholes." Any time someone attacks black racists, you know some people will call him racist. I commend him for having the balls to do this song. Racism is racism. It doesn't just go in one direction. |

| Tupac Shakur – Changes Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I like the fact that he had aggressive music, but also had messages. People like Common or other "conscious hip-hop" artists are not aggressive enough to appeal to many youth. 2Pac had a mix of both, and was trying to get out of the gangs, when he got shot. BUT, here's my problem. I don't necessarily agree with everything he (or any artist/celebrity) says. In one line he says: "my stomach hurts so I'm lookin' for a purse to snatch" Then, later, he says: "And I ain't never did a crime I ain't have to do" He contradicts himself. The whole "I can't get a job. Those racist whiteys won't hire me, so I gotta rob and sell drugs" thing is a bullshit copout for certain black people who are stupid enough to buy into the cult of separatism and victimization. He didn't "have" to snatch a purse from ANYONE. It's often ignored how many SUCCESSFUL black people there are nowadays, because of race pimps pushing victimization upon their people, focusing on the bad, which would insult me more as a black person. Dependency on welfare is part of what is fucking things up with CERTAIN black people. |

Oops EDIT: The guy making racial or religious or gender based jokes is not a huge deal. When he starts influencing people into following racist POLITICs and activism, it's a whole nother level. |

| Public Enemy – Bring the Noise Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I actually still have really mixed emotions about this stuff. I like the fact that they got all these positive messages for people in the black community, but the Nation of Islam is a hate group as recognized by the SPLC. To me, if I accepted this from them, I'd have to accept white guys giving endorsements to KKK leaders. I mean, even if Hitler had some good points, or people said he brought up Germany's economy or whatever, I would still not support him. You can follow and listen to racists without supporting or endorsing them. A few ignorant words don't bother me, whether it's cracka or the "n-word". Positive endorsements of hate groups do bother me. The guy making racial or religious or gender based jokes is not a huge deal. When he starts influencing people into following racists, it's a whole nother level. I don't care if it's the KKK, Neo Nazis, New Black Panther Party, Nation Of Islam, La Raza, Christian Coalition, or whoever. (Don't believe NOI is a hate group? Research their views on interracial marriages, among many other views) Racism is still a problem, still. I acknowledge this. BUT, that type of thing only serves to delve a wedge even further, with many people. |

| Willie Nelson – Cowboys Are Frequently, Secretly Fond of Each Other Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I just meant those last statements using their own logic, if you consider homosexuality a simple issue of "perversion" (which I don't). It's not as simple as just a lifestyle they choose to live that they can change at the drop of a hat, like people change their underwear. | |
| Gangsta Fag – Run from the Faggots Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Too bad I don't think he's serious about stayin around. His site's down, his supposed album never dropped and it doesn't look like he's said or done shit on myspace in forever. | |
| Gangsta Fag – Run from the Faggots Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"Put them on their knees now we're fucking them all Lick the shit off my cock while you're licking my balls Your girls in tears while she watch you suck it I guess you picked the wrong fucking fag to fuck with" This shit is fucking hilarious. With all of the gaybashing in hip-hop, this song is awesome. I love the way he breaks the stereotype mold so much. A gay musician who isn't so passive aggressive libertarian that he's afraid to drop down to the homophobes level. ie: Quit whining about homophobic lyrics, and talk shit back. A fuckin +! |
|
| Willie Nelson – Cowboys Are Frequently, Secretly Fond of Each Other Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| And both are still supporting "homosexual acts". | |
| Willie Nelson – Cowboys Are Frequently, Secretly Fond of Each Other Lyrics | 18 years ago |

What's funny is that I bet a large portion of the idiotic rednecks complaining are hypocrites. They complain about "queers", but hoot and hollar at two women kissing. And truthfully, whose the bigger perv? The two women may have an excuse, because they have actual feelings, beyond just lust. Billie Bob over in the corner wacking off watching them is just trying to get his nut off. |

| 50 Cent – In Da Club Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Fuck 50 Cent. Didn't Em have any more original friends he could've gotten a record deal? Really? That "I'm a gangsta" shit is getting old as fuck. At least 2Pac had some positive shit to say with "Changes" and "Dear Mama". So many people hate all rap. Most that do point to 50's dumb ass as an example. Right when the mainstream rap was due to change, this guy came out. If not for his being promoted so heavily, room might have been made for something different in the hip-hop scene to surface from the underground. This dude sucks. "Get Rich or Die Trying?" He should've died trying. PS: Yes, I'm a fag. Bisexual. "Gangsta philosophy 101: must hate anyone different, cuz "I'm a motherfucking G.I.M.P.") But, I'm also a former soldier, masculine and could whip some of y'alls little trendy asses. If calling someone "gay" is the worst shit you've got, you're about as intelligent as Beavis and Butt-Head. Point blank, "son". |

Plus, it's INCINERATE. Insinuate? He's gon insinuate me. OH FUCK! |
|
| Immortal Technique – Crossing The Boundary Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"Immortal Technique insinuate degenerate fags Burn Trent Lott, wrapped in his confederate flag" Can I make a song about fucking up "niggers" like Rodney King? Freedom of speech, right? I like some of this guy's stuff, but I wouldn't say that I have an overwhelming amount of respect his opinions on morality or progressive thinking. |
|
| Immortal Technique – Dance With The Devil Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I just downloaded and heard this shit. Despite the shit I talked about this guy, because of hearing about his homophobia and religious supremacy, I actually loved this song. The lyrics and storytelling are awesome. Sick twisted shit. | |

Thanx. I try. This song was actually my fave song from I Am... |
|
| Public Enemy – Bring the Noise Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I retract my former comments, as I realized that I was probably just ignorantly judging them off certain arrogant members of their hardcore black Muslim fanbase. Everyone probably has some level of personal prejudice, as the flawed human beings we all are, and it's not like they go overboard with it. I really do like the song. I still think Farrakhan's a racist, BUT I guess he does have good advice for black people. And Public Enemy are an awesome group, since I've given them more of a chance. A lot of the white people he does attack deserve it. Racist pricks. And he did do the collaboration version with 4 white guys (Anthrax). The widespread acceptance of racism and double standards of acceptance for INDISCRIMINATE white people among many positive black empowerment movements just makes me not want to get but so involved with such things. So, to me, that aspect of many "black empowerment" movements, I think is counterproductive as far as turning away people who they might want to reach out to (poor White America). This could also conceivably turn potential allies into enemies, in some scenarios (that I've actually heard about). Think about it. If a white kid goes to an a mostly black school in a poor neighborhood, and is constantly harassed, he will get frustrated and angry. Ignorant hate group fucks such as skinheads may capitalize on this confusion, like leeches, molding their young minds. ie: "Join us and be strong". Not saying that's right, but that both sides have their own racism and double standards, and this FACT can no longer be ignored, if we want TRUE progress and possibly more black-white cooperation in equality and diversity issues. I meant gaining cooperation from more than extremely liberal whites. You can piss on white libs and they will shake your hand and say "That's alright, homie. We still down?" (sarcasm) They have no pride. I kinda see some of them as offensive to both black and white people. But, anyways..... Sorry for goin on the off topic rant. Great song. |

| Johnny Cash – Man in Black Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day, And tell the world that everything's OK, But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back, 'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black. " I love this song. I feel that way a lot. People in general, tend to be VERY apathetic, ignorant and self-absorbed beings. Because of this and other factors, the problems plaguing this world will most likely continue for sometime to come. "And, I wear it for the thousands who have died, Believen' that the Lord was on their side," From what I took, this wasn't anti-Christian at all. Many people have died under the name of "the lord". God is on noone's side in war (Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill. ). *wipes victims blood off hands* "Thank you, lord, for giving me the strength to do this." Yyyyyyyeah. Right. |
|
| Tupac Shakur – Changes Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"Instead of war on poverty they got a war on drugs so the police can bother me" Cool song, but I really love that part. 2Pac was something that could we use a LOT more of today. A thug who also had some brains and conscious, and wasn't too afraid to show it. (PS 50 Cent sucks.) |
|
| Marilyn Manson – Disposable Teens Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"I never really hated a one true god but the god of the people I hated" I just love that part. People who dislike him for religious reasons don't bother to listen or try to understand any of what he's about. He's attacking the abuse of faith and negative aspects of modern organized religion. the first part is saying that he never had disrespect for spirituality or those who believe in some higher power. The second part is attacking the way religion has been misused through the past and present by groups or individuals in power (Crusades, attacking women's rights, supporting slavery, Salem Witch Trials, bookburnings, homophobia, blah blah...) The "One true God" refers to any God that may exist, and/or people's rights to believe in whatever. "The God of the People" refers to the "God" people have used to justify these things. AND still do. I know there's more to the song than those 2 lines, with a lot more meaning, but I really love that part. |
|
| Public Enemy – Bring the Noise Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Oh, yeah. Fuck whitey! (Turns to nearest "whitey" to be found) | |
| Public Enemy – Bring the Noise Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
To each their own. It's actually got a good beat. I especiallyloved the collab version with Anthrax at one point. I just don't wanna hear people preach to me about tolerance who are less tolerant than me. It's kinda a joke. 2Pac and Nas have/had positive shit, too, and I take it more seriously. Why? Because they are/were artists first, and more human seeming, rather than trying to be some kind of role models or politicians. IF PE weren't so hypocritical, I'd take conscious more seriously from them. I can't go from listening to Pink Floyd to Public Enemy and honestly not say that I recognize which is truly more "progressive". Just mine, though. Farrakhan is a racial separatist, hardcore black Muslim extremist, and fullfledged racist. Not exactly a supporter of human equality. Why should we "listen to What he can say to you, what you ought to do" |
|
| Eminem – Criminal Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Part of this song was done just to piss off fags like the GLAAD, who were taking shit too seriously and bitching. Fag-fag-faggety-fag-fag-fag-whore-shitfuck-kedoo. It's just a word. btw, I'm bi, and still a fan of Em. Elton friggin John even trashed GLAAD for fuck sake. Eminem's just an entertainer. Even back as far as Shakespeare's time, people used entertainers as scapegoats. If Em were really that homophobic, I think he would not have shared the stage with Elton or someone like Marilyn Manson. Cool song. Funny fucking shit, if you're not too easily offended and have an actual sense of humor. |
|
| Public Enemy – Bring the Noise Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Dude, he gave props to that racist douchebag Louis Farrakahan, as if he were on par with Martin Luther King. With all the racist, anti-Semitic, sexist, and homophobic crap often found in their music, they are the LAST people I wanna hear preach about ANYTHING. And they are seen as one of the biggest voices of hip-hop consciousness. That's pretty SAD. | |
| 50 Cent – In Da Club Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
50 Cent is NOT hip-hop. Period. I LIKE hip-hop on the whole (and ALL sorts of shit) and not just the MTV variety garbage. Let me state this once again. 50 Cent is a walking, talking stereotype ("dumb gangster nigger"). A lot of raphaters look at him as the prototype of why they hate rap and think that's what hip-hop is all about. When I used to hate rap, I always pictured someone who looked/sounded/acted like him before I even saw him. You can only imagine how annoyed I was when this guy made it big. It's about time for a trend change. The direction of hip-hop needs to change with the times and evolve every once in a while just like rock does. His shit was not needed at this time. The thug and party shit has grown stale as fuck. If you "love hip-hop" so much, you should be against the way he's held it back. "now, there's a difference between the mtv bullshit you see and REAL HIP HOP. real hip hop has actual meaning and believe it or not, it's deep and you need talent in order to do it." Thank the fuck you. |
|
| 50 Cent – In Da Club Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| My problem is that he's a walking talking stereotype of what most rap-haters think all rap is about. No talent, ignant as fuck, and more about image/fronting than anything else. No wonder he's so popular. Everywhere you turn your head, he's shoved down your throat. How bout they give someone different that kind of promotion already? | |
| Prince – Cream Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Who cares? I don't give a crap if he likes poodles. I like his music. "Gay" according to the dictionary means you are not attracted to the opposite sex whatsoever. Being a "freak" or sexually adventuresome individual on his level the other hand, only puts you in more suspicion of downlo BI(not homo/gay)sexuality. A LOT of bi guys have had sex with many women. They don't see an occasional fling or 3way here and there as making them "gay". Just another of many new experiences (like anal with a gal). Anyway, it's beside the point. Which is that, once again, either way, it shouldn't matter if you LIKE HIS MUSIC. Point blank. If that would even affect your like/dislike of him, you're a friggin idiot. :) | |
| Nas – Hate Me Now Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I like all types of shit including rap (mostly alt-indie-rap), but when ppl say it's crap, they probably got a bad view of the whole genre from the majority of what is pushed by the mass sellout media. These are some things that made me use to hate rap. A lot of it, like Christianity, was some of their retard fans I hated more. 1. Too much black culture, including some rap, reflects "reverse racism" to some degree (anti-white). Many times, when whites are the victims of racially motivated crimes, it's not even considered racial. Love Eminem and Kid Rock 2. In a really OBNOXIOUS way, 50-60 rappers who know nothing about "God" keep praising him. They're pushing faith as a fashion trend, rather than pushing ANY semi-intelligent and/or universal/worldly views on religious issues. And you know those of fickle "casual faith" are the ones likely to misuse it. Kanye's cool, but Esham has the balls to say something different. 3. Hip-hop homophobia. (Punk's idea of progressive/positive= homophobia's the enemy; hip-hop's= homosexuality's the enemy) Helps push hate, AND the Hollywood endorsed stereotype that all gay guys are "fruity" or overly feminine. A joke to many. And many of the same artists treat the same issue different for 2 hot chicks. wtf?! A midground? Ignorance personified. Deadlee is one guy that might could help reverse the flow of this ish in hip-hop. 4. Women...well, you know what I'll say here. btw...Lil' Kim rocks. 5. The kind of tude where certain hip-hop fans hate on goth/punks for the way they dress after receiving a lot of crap themselves about the way they dress from more conservative or older folks. Hypocritical. I know that there is still a lot of hate-residue still lingeing by blacks from slavery and history, but we need to demolish that. I realize that other genres have elitism, but not as bad. Having a combattive tude and being "stupid" and overly materialistic at the same time is a dangerous "trend" to push. I actually like Nas. 50 Cent? There's some serious CRAP, imo. I'm just saying that I just wish more diversity would be played. Less meaningless "thug" shit right now. More Roots and The Coup. |

| David Bowie – Ashes to Ashes Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| About what Krock said. Actually, if he were homosexual, he would never have married a woman. As far as bisexual, I think he just wants to get away from the label itself and be judged more on his art itself. I believe that's why he went back on that. I'm not going to lie. The whole bi thing is what got to me to START listening to him, but regardless, I love his music. Why does everyone assume bisexuality in men means homosexual or you don't like women? Anyway, not the place for this. This song is good, but isn't one of my faves by him. | |
| Prince – Cream Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| To cervante, that just proves he isn't gay. Bisexual is a little different, apart from what ignorant homophobes think. Do you honestly think he'd admit it ? You're a little on the defensive aren't ya? Would you hate him if he did go both ways (not saying he does but what should you care if you like his music)? If it is a big deal for you, then you suck. Period. | |
