I couldn't find these lyrics anywhere so I figured I'd give it a go! I know there are mistakes so feel free to send me your corrections...he just trails off or elongates certain notes that makes it damn hard to pick up what he is saying!
and I think this song is obviously a criticism of the way our country has been run and acted over the last couple years and how the public was also very caught up in the being patriotic at all costs, but now with time passing we've come to realize what kind of mistakes we made under the veil of patriotism and how they've affected not only ourselves but the world! |

McAwesome...yes the entire band was either still in high school or fresh out of high school when this album was written, recorded, and released! As a matter of fact Streetlight Manifesto has re-released this album with Tomas and a few old former Catch 22 members! Tomas said he hated the way it sounded when it was first recorded and wanted to clean it up and release it. The originals are amazing but inevitably just slightly flawed, maybe because they were young or maybe because of a small budget but either way the Catch 22 version is AMAZING for a group of young high school kids. Nonetheless the Streetlight Manifesto version is just as good if not better, with a little more SKA and a bit less PUNK! The horns are cleaner and the raging distortion parts are toned down making it a more SKA-oriented album as opposed to the original. EITHER WAY THIS ALBUM FUCKIN KILLS!!! EVERYONE WHO LOVES SKA AND PUNK SHOULD HEAR IT EITHER FROM CATCH 22 or STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO |

also one thing that bugs me about the whole sellout deal is that if u wanna look at a band that has "soldout" DMB is the completely wrong direction to be lookin in all bands change their sound a little over time, they tweek a guitar sound here and there or maybe a drum line every now and then everyband does it and there are always significant changes to everybodys work as they mature in the business DMB jus happen to have a shitload of loyal fans is because they are some of the most talented musicians ever and their music appeals to a huge demographic a DMB show isnt jus those abercrombie and fitch, birkenstock wearing ppl. its parents mother, fathers, sons, daughters, young, old, black, white, and if thats why DMB gets called sellouts well then so be it because the true fans know the truth!! |

ok to be completely honest at first glance and the few snippets i had heard of dave...i thought they sucked royal ass...but after a while a friend of mine who happens to be a huge DMB fan started making me listen to their stuff when we would jam out with our guitars and we would get inspired by listening to their songs and then jus jam out for hours and now im in love with them me and my friend are goin to see dave 2 times in 3 days once in VA and once in PA and i cant wait and damn im glad i actually gave them a chance because they are easily one of the most talented bands that ever walked gods green earth |

tsucol...i guess u see ppl as "invading" into ur genre...well guess wut its not urs yea grant it this whole "punk" movement in the commercial world is a bunch of bullshit and all these teeny bopper chicks are like HOORAY FOR GOOD CHARLOTTE, who by the way fuckin sux now, you can't jus criticize a song for its simplicity and lyrics...if u dont like it then u dont like it....i personally listen to a lot of ska and ska is nothing more then a chirping guitar and there are plenty of other songs out there that have only 4 or 5 chords and were AMAZING songs so im not on ne1's side i personally kinda like this song but i think overall the album is mediocre...so to each his/her own.. |
