OMG! -Emo_Core- mentioned my name :D i feel all special now... Ok this does have to do with me, i am a fan of music, it takes up alot of my day and most of my time, so this Andrew WKs music is revelant to me i will say simply that every song that i hear from andrew sounds like the same thing over and over again, so i say he does not have musical talent. If you can get uplifted by this song more power to you. I hope all your parties go well and enjoy yourself. seriously. I don't need lyrics to be angsty or depressing or even relativly "sad" i just want my music to make me think, make me feel something, good, bad, sad, confused, amused whatever, andrew WK makes me apathetic, i feel nothing but the vibrations emminating from the speakers. I guess some people want an artist to be vibrant and twitchy to make them smile, then andrew wk fits this, he jumps like a monkey on meth and speed and hell even i enjoy watching that. But my concern lies soley within his music, there is nothing there for me to appreciate. If this song floats your boat i'm envious that you have one more thing to get the blood flowing through your viens than i do. But in my defense, i don't really like emo that much, so -Emo_Core-, maybe if you knew me more than what you acertained from my few posts on this topic you would not have lumped me with the rest of them. good or bad, andrew wk has made his mark on all of us who have commented here, because we felt just stronly enough one way or the other to leave our mark, to say our piece on andrew wk. This does not bother me, once again, i have to bring this back to the music, i think the music is terrible, but as an american and a human it is my right to feel so. Andrew WK can be the nicest person in the world, he can personally give blowjobs and a $50 bill to each and every one of his fans, this still would not make up for his lack of talent. My apologies to Munko, if you are reading this, you were the one who stayed the most mature, even more so than i at times, and i really earnestly apreciate that. What i have said here may or may not be contraditory to what i have said earlier, but this is how i feel now. Andrew (since the time i first posted) has released some more songs that i cannot help but to hear, and i remain stalwart in my convictons, and i welcome all my dissenters. |

Umm i'll have to just take a wild stab in the dark here, but i have always thought of jolene as someone that the speaker has wanted to save from the tiediousnous (spelling?) of her life. "like she has done 100 times before" He wants to save her image as she is now, throw you out into space, cast your face in lead, those lines show that he wants to save her, as innocent, as taken care of. But this is an off the cuff interpretation. So i am welcome to any other thoughts or views. |

Look i'll lay off the fans and just say that i think the music itself sucks, i can't express my feelings anymore plainly than that. I don't see any positive side to andrew WKs music and fankly i don't see what importance he should have to me. in the movie airheads there is this one part where Brandon Frasier learns that he will be lip-syncing at a concert without his concent. The whole reason the record company gave Brandons band the deal was becase they were made famous by the terrorist actions that took place the preceding day. What brandon says about his music and the record company makes me think of Andrew WK: "It could be pip (drummer / Adam Sandler) farting on a snare drum and you wouldn't give a shit" Andrew WK has something that the record company wants to sell you, i never trust something that hyped that isn't that great like the hives and the white stripes, i say open your eyes and listen to someone that acctually has something worthwhile to say. I can't stand anything that doesn't have anything to do with anything meaningful its a waste of my time, to read a stphen king book or to watch beavis and butthead do america. I need substance not just some stupid party anthem. I have better things to do with my time than party.
