i dunno.... the song's good... but i don't want to comment on the song... i'd like to comment about all of those 'punk chicks' who criticize her for being a 'poser'... i just wanna say that i don't believe in posers.. because there's no mold to follow and music isn't about defining someone... maybe she likes to skate, she likes punk rock, she likes the clothes she wears, i dunno, but to me, no one's a poser... that shit about modeling people into descriptions and defining them as 'posers' or... mmm.. true punks (what's that, anyway? i'm a punk guy and every punk guy and girl i meet is totally different from me, no one following the same mold, therefore everyone being a poser)... is a very stupid thing to do.... that's all i wanted to say... i think people who think someone's a poser because he/she doesn't 'represent' how he/she dresses and how he/she speaks and what he/she does are totally lost people... that's all i wanted to say....

thelocust_x: if you think using the same visual effect in a video as in another is ripping off the video, you're wrong.. a lot of bands before SOAD and NFG have used that effect, and used it for the same purposes (bridges, solos, etc) like, for example, bands that come up to my mid: Finger Eleven, Unwritten Law, Korn, Oasis.... it's just a camera effect, chill out, it's not ripping off videos and running out of imagination... plz.... and those videos were LONG before SOAD's... |

'it's empty tonight, and i'm all alone, get me through this one'. he's somehow trapped and can't see her or be with her.. in the video, he can't see her or be with her because he's been kept prisoner, and she hasn't found the letters he wrote, so she can go and save him ('Where did you run to so far away?')... maybe that's it... anyways, just my opinion |

for PunkRockBasser, who said that nate didn't scream... maybe in letters to you he doesn't, but he does scream, as well as the bassist, and the lead guitarist does the 'treble' choruses.. but nate does scream... if you have morpheus or kazaa or imesh download the albany show.. then you'll see... he screams in some songs (post script, project mayhem, etc)... a fact about finch, mofo....
and maybe you haven't understood the video... 'i miss you' can not only be said to someone, but to something... in the video, nate writes letters for someone to find, if you notice, the letters read 'HELP HELP', etc. so he's been kept prisoner, along with the band.. the kid goes in to help them, but in the end gets caught as well. maybe you haven't noticed that a song has more than one meaning, and maybe that's why you think the video has nothing to do with the song.. watch again.. maybe it'll make sense.. a finch fact, mofo.. |

sorry... but i still believe FSF is emo... sorry dude.. and about chris.. i dunno, i have the cd where he is all by himself (the swiss army romance) and i heard the rock version of 'screaming infidelities' and i like it better. i dunno, maybe i was expecting more from chris, like he did in FSF, a band. also, i think listening to one or two or three DC songs in a row sounds cool with just chris, i mean), but listening to the whole cd, at the end is kind of boring, i'm not saying it's not good, cause it is, but it's too monotone... i dunno, just my opinion... and yeah FSF rocks, and this song rocks... but nothing compared to 'just until sundown'... this song is sad... having to be missing someone who is far away.. i've lived it, and man it's frustrating... but love is love, what can i say? peace. |

i think this song is both about suicide and letting someone you adore go.... it's so sad... that feeling of incompetence, when you can't do anything to stop it, to go 'back to the good old times, before it won'... it's about more breaking up and feeling like dying afterwards... maybe... 'sing a long goodnight' i think means 'imagine that everything's okay' because most of the times when someone has a long *good*night... you feel like so good in the morning, opposite to how he's felling now... all broken up and blue |

being a sellout is changing yourself to satisfy others... not making money... i mean, bands make recordings of their songs so that people can listen to them, money comes as a reward, as a consequence for your effort in making music... that's not being a sellout... sellouts are those who prioritize money over music... their music is made to make money ('making the band' --> Otown --> people listen to them because of the show, not necesarilly the music they make (which is not made by them, by the way) and the recording industry makes money)(Britney Spears, Metallica, Limp Bizkit, and every other band who changes their style to what's hip so that they make more money... not staying true to what they want.... anyways that's only my definition... being a sellout is not someone who gets money as a reward for a song he managed to pulled out and it came good.... talent.... |

i dunno exactly what the part with the small kid means (when he's at the beach) but everything else just shows how thoughtful and alone he is at the same time (the part at the party, he's alone and bored...) the part when he's at his room i believe means he is swallowing everything, giving up... the girl i dunno who she is but she is sad because he never tells her what's wrong with him... maybe it's his girlfriend or something... the part when he lets the moth free means (i believe) that he will finally let everything go.... but at the same time he 'sees' (imagines) the glass broken in his hand (he's suicidal or it means everything's breaking down in him).. it's truly one of the best videos i've seen... also it has the full length song, they don't cut parts of it, it's not recorded from MTV or anything, which makes it even better, not so commercial but very to-the-point....

the video is amazing and it clears things up a lot.... i thinks it's about everything building up (anorexia, addictions, anxiety, depression, anger...) and never showing it up, swallowing it until you explode.... until everything you've tried to contain just tears you and your life apart and there's nothing you can do... the video expresses very well what i'm saying, this guy almost drowns in his own bedroom, he's all alone, he thinks a lot and can't do nothing about anything.... it's one of the most amazing songs i've ever heard, really... musically, it's truly a masterpiece, if daniel came up with the tunings and ideas all by himself (which i think he did) and helfgott and averything... lyrically it's so expressive... it's amazing... |
