I get so much crap for having this song proudly featured on my Morpheus playlist. I'm sorry, this song is the epitome of the great genre known as the power ballad. Cheesy, yes. Bad, no. Wonderful, most def. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Something I Can Never Have Lyrics

This is one of the most beautiful songs that I've ever heard. I'm completely unfamiliar with Nine Inch Nails, and I decided to introduce myself to them via this website - read the lyrics and choose those that I liked best, then download the song and see if I like the way those lyrics were set to music. I was blown away by this song. God. It's gorgeous. |

| Counting Crows – Colorblind Lyrics

For me, this song is most beautiful when taken in a literal sense. I, like a lot of people, associate this song most often with that scene in Cruel Intentions in which Annette gives herself to Sebastien. I think this song is really about the beauty of a girl's deflowering from the viewpoint of her body. The correct lyric is actually "I am covered in skin/no one gets to come in/pull me out from inside/I am ready x3/I am fine." I think the colorblind aspect of it is that to our bodies, our lovers are all the same, regardless of distinctions like color; the real distinction takes place in our minds, and that is what separates our sex from that of animals. I think this song really illuminates the beauty of the loss of virginity and the loss of innocence that accompanies it. |
