Soil – Halo Lyrics 20 years ago
It's the classic battle of the little devil on one shoulder vs. the little angel on the other shoulder. The "little halo" is the angel. The man on whose shoulders rest the devil and angel has been listening to the devil, and as the angel fights to gain control, the man tells the angel he isn't interested. The man feels he's been evil, or bad, enough... why stop while you're ahead and in control?

Guns N' Roses – Coma Lyrics 20 years ago
This song is about being in a coma. While in this coma, you see your life all come back by again, and you realize how crummy you were to yourself and others. When you wake up, you realize you have hurt alot of people and yourself and you feel the desire to make things right, never stopping until you're satisfied.

Rammstein – Du Hast Lyrics 20 years ago
Okay, first, if anyone reading this knows any german, they know that HAST does not mean HATE. Hasse means Hate, Hast means HAVE. It's "You have me" not "You hate me". This song is about questioning marriage, as told by the denial of vows. Will you be a slave? Will you serve unwittingly? Will you stay with her until death? And as we can see, by the loud explamations of "NEIN!" (which means "no"), the answer is no.

The perfect build up to "The Great Below", this track on The Fragile confirms that "The Great Below" is about death.

Nine Inch Nails – The Great Below Lyrics 20 years ago
It's obvious this song is about death. Not just death itself, but the idea of death as pondered by the narrator, and the events that lead up to the actual thing. The narrator feels he has no choice but to die ("The ocean pulls me close and whispers in my ear, the destiny I've chose all becoming clear") and he does so ("I descend from grace in arms of undertow"). The line "I can still feel you even so far away" depicts the moral of this "story" as far as I can tell; Don't burn your bridges.

Nine Inch Nails – Hurt Lyrics 20 years ago
To me, this song is about regret. About making the wrong choices and trying to right them. At some point, the narrator made a choice that game him alot, but hurt someone he cared about. Realizing that the person he hurt is more important, he offers to give up his "empire of dirt". The end of the song (last 4 lines) clearly states that if the narrator could go back and make different choices, he would.

This song is obviously about sex. Look at the lyrics. This is so describing a sexual encounter.

This song is about someone who's lived a very sheltered life... at least, thats what I think it's about.

Foo Fighters – Everlong Lyrics 20 years ago
This is a great example of a love song. The lyrics were beautifully written and the music goes perfect with it, in my opinion.

Jars of Clay – Flood Lyrics 20 years ago
this song is obviously about Noah's Ark. If you want to take it metaphorically, this song could be about being strong in your faith; no matter what happens, things will come out right if you have faith in yourself and others.
