An in your face shout out to all those complaint rock middle class bands. A full out satire becuse it's...*sniff*...so hard to be a white middle-class male. |

Very simply. "I've become a victim of my life choices and I want to start all over." |

Annie is waiting for the perfect man to enter her life and every time someone comes in, he's is less than what she wants. She wants to grow old with someone and she feel that time is slipping her by not knowing that the narrator (singer) who is just a friend is probably the man she's been waiting for all this time. As he's always wanted her. |

To me, this song is about success in the music industry. Not just by an industry standpoint, but even more importantly, a personal standpoint. The first verse lays out what the band does, critics be damned and the consequence of this is the chorus "all of a sudden, we (the band) are the ones in the industry spotlight. This could be the only shot, so let's really make this work."
On the second verse, the band's session is going overtime, but not that the band notices because they are doing what they love to do and would do it whether they were successful or not. "the dream will always be mine".
and also why the "waiting feel is fine" ... although I'm still not sure of the "moons" part :) |
