Hey, i know you all say its about the youth, and how we are worshiped by adults, but still yet tourn apart like by cops and stuff who don't trust us.. but what about it being the other way around? i mean, when we are young, we look to our parents. they are the coolest people ever. we love them with all our hearts. they can do no wrong. but then as we grow up, we decide that our parents are terrible, and are only there to bring us down. when we are little, they have huge dreams for us.. but as we grow up, they are all shattered.. things go wrong. we are no longer perfect in their eyes. its like their dreams for us are the straw dog, and our illusions of them are the straw dog too... eventually, they realize that you're living for your dreams, and not thiers. and we discard them, becuase we have other idols.. people who are smarter, cooler, funnier, whatever. they realize we aren't perfect, just as we realize they aren't perfect. Putting the straw dog into the streets is like both sides throwing out thier perceptions, and letting them be destroyed. calling out the police is like them trying to gain control back, and they may get us, but we won't let them get to us. we are still gonna live our lives they way we have, and they can't really stop us.. ..just my take on it tho. |

| Brand New – Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is about a boy and a girl that like each other. All they have gotten from thier friends, the media, etc. is that if they really like each other they need to have sex. I think the roles are reversed in that she is the calm one, and that he is scared.. But i still think they are both under the same mis-conception that sex is the only way to show someone you love them. | |
| Straylight Run – It's For the Best Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| being of the college age, this song strikes me as one that is about growing up, and having your eyes opened to everything, and questioning everything you used to belive in. You realize how sheltered you were growing up, and how much more there is to the world.. | |
| Blink-182 – Strings Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Actually, no, he didn't. He said that it isn't about being independent.. its about the conflict between love and independence. Two completely different things. | |

well, fuk3r, we could sit here all day and talk about different crap like this.. but in all honesty.. they songs are similar.. but then again, what isn't? music is made up of chords.. certin chords sound good together.. and since there are only 12 different ones to choose from, naturally, some songs sounds simmular.. and yes, the first three or four notes are played the same, but they use different notes, and don't follow the same progression.. the same goes with the rest of the song.. and also.. an interesting fact about ripping off.. take a listen to the hell song by sum41..instead of using their lyrics for the start of the verse, try using: "Never made it as a wise man I couldn't cut it as a poor man stealin' Tired of livin' like a blind man I'm sick of sight without a sense of feelin " in instead.. it fits remarkebly well.. hummm.. or did sum41 write this song before nickelback was even famous? or is it just a coincidence that two songs that were recorded by different groups happen to have the same sound? As with this song and sun 41, i am going to go with the last choice.. |

| so yeah, i was born in 82.. i feel so old.. but yeah, i still have a popple in my room. my sister gave it to me when i was little. and i have like all the action figures from thundercats (speaking of which, check out the song "i'm lion-o" br relient k)... Playing ninja turtles at recess on the playground.. and hey, does anyone remember all those cool nickelodeon shows like "salute your shorts" or "hey dude" or that one show with dave from full house? or "welcome freshman"? or how about the show "roundhouse"? i think that one was the best.. it was prolly early 90's tho.. | |

| Relient K – Pressing On Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| i agree with jesusfreak1988. like the last verse, it talks about god looking down from heave on him, but not actually looking down on him.... like he notices our effort, and how we stay away from sin (trying to keep my head on straight), and how hes "done with that". hes "got one foot out the door", and "to go back to where i was would just be wrong", like back into the life of sin.. yeah.... | |
| Relient K – For The Moments I Feel Faint Lyrics | 23 years ago |

| Relient K – Softer To Me Lyrics | 23 years ago |

hey, i am a blink fan, i'll admit that their live shows have been sucking lately (the last two i saw were a thumbs down), but a lot of their old song were really good, and had emotion.. like the stuff off of buddha.. not all profanity and doing bad stuff with grandpa. and jemma, chriscalls dashboard and indie rock band.. the media labeled him as emo. and relient k... i really like them a lot.. but i agree with some of the thoughts about forcing christianity down peoples throats. i find that songs of theirs like "sady hawkins dance" that sound good, but don't seem heavily laced with christian vaules will bring non-christans in better. i mean, how many people enjoy it when people come to the door handing out tracts? not many that i know of... its just too much all at once.. like trying to feed a baby steak when it comes home from a hospital. they just aren't ready for it yet.. in the anatomy of tounge and cheek, there are some songs that are good, but aren;t loaded with christian values, that people will hear, so when they buy the CD, they can slowly ween into the christian songs if they like, take it at their own pace.. not get it forced down thier throats. |
