damn...if JT is emo im steve Mcqueen. I saw them in June, and this song SUCKED live...I cant believe they prerecorded the voice. I can understand the piano, but not the voice. thats just horrible. oh, and emo is not even a label anymore, I hate emo, I hate every controversial conversation ever had about emo. it sucks. the "emo" label is just another way to brand bands...oh well, peace.

man, they have gotten quite popular in the past couple of weeks. I used to be a huge JT fan, but I went and saw them AGAIN last June, and they messed up big time. I cant believe they lay down vocal tracks prerecorded, and on the best song they have ever written, but oh well...still like this song, but still cant listen to it. peace

Refused was right up there with Fugazi, the Pixies, and other bands that showed originality in their work. T(I)NC is more commercial, but they still get the message across, however less hardcore. If you like Lyxzen as a singer, try to find "Songs in the Key of Resistance" by The Lost Patrol. he put this album out in 2001, and its very good acoustic music. I even saw him play "the World did this" when I went to see T(I)NC. it was great. This band was an amazing talent, but like all of the greatest bands, they had to break up. I dont know why that happens, it just does. like Rage. and At the drive-in. oh well... |

man, do you guys really think they are emo? I never thought the Juliana Theory as emo...more like pop, but in a Get Up Kids way, not a Brittany Spears way. I love JT and have seen them many a time. I just dont think they are emo, sorry. but hell, who is emo? emo sucks...its a stupid label, and so is "nu-metal." I cant remember who said it, I think it may be Claudio from C/C, but he said that new metal is the remnants of the '80s hair bands that these kids couldnt quite get a hold of the grunge thing. and now, all the kids who were into grunge when it was popular, all the young kids, are coming of age into this age. thats why JT, The Strokes, The Hives, The White Stripes, and other "garage" type bands are beginning to be come popular. Its just a thought... |

hey sl0rider, you asked what emo is? emo is defined by most people as having soft and loud dynamics, punk, but with more melody, or "white boy pain" as a lot of people like to call it. It all started in the early '80's during a minor Threat show in which a man in the audience yelled "hey, you guys are emocore." Ian McKaye, then of Minor THreat but later started the amazing band fugazi, yelled back, and everyone say with me, "did you mean 'emo phillips."
