Finding comfort in the abuse because it's what you know of a life, but recognizing another way.Piece of mind. I see this abuse within myself, but I am trying to break it and you won't let me.I see distance between us. I love you, but I fear and that's not true love. The abuse continues so remember that I love you as it ends, because there is no other way... |

I think that er_bear54 is thinking on the same page that I am concerning this song. I do think that Maynard is "Interviewing" in a sense. Speaking from the mind of this Sodomiser. Speaking of the mental problems and illusions that many child molesters deal with. Their justifications if you will. Life is a cycle in many, many ways. I think his point is that hurt brings hurt, pain brings pain. We justify the hurt and pain that we have caused others by the hurt and pain that we have experienced. Knowingly or not, this is within all of us. This is true of all relationships. We must learn to break this... |

I think that Maynard is again speaking about inner-self. Growth. Things in life are simple, sometimes too simple and then we see that thing or things that opens our eyes to a little more. This leads to question ourselves and our environment. With this in mind, we must not let ourselves take it so far that we miss out on opportunities and lose touch with our own intuitions. Like in all things there must be balance. The light of the moon when it's dark and the shade of a tree when it's bright. It's obvious that Maynard is embracing these feelings or flags (red & yellow being colors to caution or alert.) that come up causing him to question and grow. He is embracing his will and believes that it will cause him to encounter more in life. Take things for what they are, not what they appear to be.... |

I think that Maynard is speaking about inner-self. About bringing things to the surface of yourself. Those things within us that we have yet to explore. We should do this in an "Unconventional" or newfound way.("You won't do what you'd like to do.") Destroy things ("I'll kill what you want me to.") that are in you that may be hendering you from nourishment. After you destroy the unneccesary, take the beneficial and grow from it.("Take what's left and eat it.") If we try to deny ourselves of the truth about ourselves we will do harm to ourselves. Acceptance of one's self. Denial of one's self is raping one's self. We are our worst enemy.... Free your self from your self! |
