i love this song because i love picking out the myths. i think the most important (but not best in my opinion) line in this song is "without contending with myths wrongly interpreted" because obviously its him interpreting myths for a person in this song.

k alright... i saw them on VH1 and they said this song was about "leaving to find yourself, and then coming back... or not"
but to me this song has always made me think of a relationship i had with my friend. he was the one who first told me about the song... and it really has nothing to do with the lyrics but whenever i hear the melody i think of all the happy times we had together and how somehow we always looked over the bad. and together we made each other better people... so to me this song is about that friendship i had with him. it never fails to make me happy. |

see i draw from personal experience on this song... the first two lines reminded me of trying to get this guys attention... and then he always used to tell me "you cant get what you want" and would go into deep depression type things....
the walking or dancing thing i always took as one hand meaning friendship and two meaning something else...
i know probally no one else sees it that way, but this song is one of those that just fits events in my life so perfectly its scary. |
