Gomez – Bring Your Lovin' Back Here Lyrics 23 years ago
.. i cut and pasted the lyrics here. things i do...

so it was maybe a month or more ago i last heard this song. i borrowed that collection of miscellaneous songs that is known as 'abandoned shopping trolley hotline.' doubt i even bothered giving it a full listen.

i really like this song. it goes for 3.5 minutes or so but only kicks in when there's something like a minute left. (or so i recall). just messes with the song to be 2/3 worth of build up. that's mad.

it's something of the whole mental space of the gomez boys that i read into. girls who aren't quite ready to accept them or are a little unsure. so the girl doesn't necessarily leave but strays slightly with her love. she forgets for a while, 'i didn't leave ya, it's you leaving me.'

but it's that 2 way street and so the boy sees it as a testing time. will the love come back or will she fall away forever? he takes the blows and the pain. he's suffering most. 'but this is not about you, this is about me.'

just then the song peaks with that line with the realisation.

- mind you, this doesn't really reflect my current mood. :P

Eels – Last Stop: This Town Lyrics 23 years ago
Man. I thought this site was about your own interpretation on song lyrics. Like I fully give a fat about what it really meant to E..
To me it's about suburbia. Suburban living and growing up with the complacency surrounding you. It's all too conservative and stale because something nasty. It's like you can always see it there. Maybe it's those dirty scratches? But the emotionless view on death. And fun found through joy rides.

Dunno. Maybe you could see it that way. Or you could take the easy option and say the last paragraph is about getting high.

Blur – Coffee & TV Lyrics 24 years ago
mostly what strikes me with the song is that up beat rhythm. i like it, it's happy. get's me rocking. i think it's one of my fav all time songs really.
so maybe i'll write some shit about the verses. for fun, mind you.
it's the whole premise of mediocrity. maybe. depends what coffee signifies to you. tv. well, that's tv, isn't it? so it doesn't really come at you as something superb. it's just a whole mundane life.
lines like 'your ears are full but your empty...' very simple but effective lyrics. this song works _much better heard.
'sociability, is hard enough for me...' so the character here needs to make an effort, you see. to all these people who don't really care and give nothing back. it's enough to make you want to fuck off the whole world because it makes you blind. it's numbing. need some escape. some kind of replenishment. someone maybe to believe in.
i'm feeling fucked as it is.
