Dictionary.com has a definition of 'albatross': "a seemingly inescapable moral or emotional burden, as of guilt or responsibility." The easiest interpretation is that the singer is getting rid of the burden of the Sex Pistols, thought Lydon did that already with 'Theme'. |

I'd have to agree with Mr. J. Venrick. There are too many of these poseurs. But aren't we all poseurs? I mean, I have never met anyone who personifies pure punk, and anyone who tries to is, ninety-three percent of the time, a pretentious rat-faced asshole.
Anyway, I love this song. TBS, as well as Brand New, to me, have awesome lyrics. They crack me in a cleverer-than-thou, hyper-ironic sort of way. |

i personally think this song is about how the lead singer was lost after ATDI broke up. Stitches breaking up probably refers to the breaking of the close bond that ATDI had. Also nectar could be a metaphor for riches (fame?) that sparta is recieving and it was all collected due to the lead singer. but he has defected and is doing better
