although i pause before i say this, i'd say this is my favorite dave song, just for the fact that it always puts me in a good mood. its such an upbeat song with a great message. it also gives some of the greatest advice i've ever heard, "and if you hold on tight to what you think is your thing you may find you're missing all the rest", awesome |

this is such a great song. i "attempt" to write songs myself, and everytime i'm writing one, i always think of how "perfect" all of john's songs seem. to me, along with howie day and dave matthews, john is one of the greatest lyricists ever, and i only wish i had a tenth of the creative mind he has |

this is just a great example of dave matthews as a storyteller. he takes an already great story, and adds his own little twists such as the "oh daddy-o", and the "met another Mary, who for a reasonable fee, less than reputable was known to be". he just has an amazing way of saying something in a way no one else could ever think of |

actually, i think its the other way around, and the guy is going away to college. for one, he talks about skippin his lecture, and going to a soccer game, and lecturses are more common in college. second, is he wonders if his picture is still hanging in her locker, as in shes still in school |
