I think everyone is looking at the small picture here. I see this song as being sung by God( or Spirit, or whatever you want to call the Force that we are all part of.) Someone is ready to give up on God and life and God is saying hey, it's not always the way you want it to be, and even though you feel like you are being forsaken, I am there, not only from a distance to watch you suffer, but I have a plan. I have " the hands upheld to catch you" even though you don't know were that is coming from. I was in a low spot of life, my good friend had just died, young and needlessly, and I could see no reason to go on. I was hysterically crying and I turned on the radio and this song, I had never really listened to the lyrics before, came on, and I felt ... caught... to use the phrase from the song, by ... God. I was stunned. It brought back my faith. Listen again. |

best dbc song ever(well...maybe, his early stuff kicks ass). I saw him/them a couple days ago with weezer and it was the last song he did "this song is about the best day i've ever had". amazing. it's like he read my mind when he wrote the lyrics. This describes me and boyfriend, except for the gate part at the end, to a fucking T. |
