ok i believe rossross now. i have heard the screaming, wailing, and whispering in the background. put on some headphones and listen to it loud. after the "trust me, trust me, trust me" bit and into the chorus, you can hear a muffled grunt in the background. this is the first time i notcied it. i thought it was someone calling me but when noone was there i rewound it and listened to it again and it was there. after that i could here the whispering and screaming in it. well done rossross. |

This song confused me english teacher! But i think it's about how this guy has made a mistake with his love. The chorus is saying that the love apologised but it's not what they guy wanted. he wanted her to leave and when she apologised he turned her away. that's what i get from the lyrics and the film clip. |

This is there best ever. The song is saying how the main character of the song has a drug/drinking problem. I think it is a message saying that because he has this problem, people aren't trusting him anymore and he's using a low self esteem to beg for forgivness from god.
That is my theory. |

to me this song represents a look at industrialisation and how technology could take over the human race. the title of the song "Lateralus" is broken down to "Lateral-Us" like neffe mentioned. "Lateral" means side of, and so the title can be named "Side Of Us". This song is one of their very best. |
