Have note posted much, yet have much to say as to meanings of many songs PsychoNavigator: No doubt years of experience allow you to understand so well. Selfwilledfate: Likewise excellent insights also...yet the unnecessary seemingly demeaning "ridiculous Freudian assumptions" comments seem harsh, as since we “don’t really know these lyrics…..and are simply trying to ascertain some semblance of a correct interpretation. Here are my insights and what these lyrics mean to me. Hopefully I won’t get too much flak over my interpretations… He seems to speaking to a “friend” whom has her own ‘responsibilities” in her ball and chains… Yet, as he once was caught up with her, and now those feeling still persist..”Into your heart I’ll beat again” Not only do they persist, but they are getting stronger. You come “Crash into me”..Well… is what it is. And the next verse is what it is. (For those who have experienced true love making…(not just sex) knows full well the meaning of these verses.) And God how I “imagined” it would be in my boyhood dreams… come on guys, you do know what I’m talking about. ( a recent event in my life has finally allowed me to understand this.) And yes it was all that I imagined. “Touch your lips”….You know those little things that she does that just drive you wild. That look that only she could give… My boyhood dream unfortunately lasted for a short time, yet I still find myself attached somehow to that “other” love in my life.. I have “gone overboard”…and I have asked for “forgiveness.” Again and again… Cuz when I’m around “her” I get confused all over again, and I definitely cannot control my self. The mutual “crashing/coming” is what cemented us together. Sure I would like to forget it/her due to my current set of responsibilities. Yet in my haste…I continue to “want to hold her” When I see her nowadays, only I… know that side of her…Although I know I can never be with her again… her “hiking her skirt up” to me is just those past thought seeping up vividly into my mind. The world opened up to me was unimaginable… “She” wore nothing so well. (Not that she was this modeled out beauty) But to me looking at her she was! Perhaps next some reference to S&M…But to me, although I have other “responsibilities”… She just ties me and twists me up so that I don’t know which way is up. Hell I cannot even drive to my destination without getting lost… all the while I continue to dream…/fantasize / yearn for …”My friend” wishfully hoping that I can still beat in her heart again…as wrong as it is… Listen to song # 6 of this same album… might shed some more light on my current line of thinking Sorry for any mistaken interpretations. The chick is either a HO! or a girl he wants. Probably a whore. Yet he can't have her. He like to... He's not going to preach to her about being a Ho. But if he's going to take that trip... he going to strap with protection, or get strapped with a disease. He holds out hope that some day, that she'll be his "property" and not her pimps of all those other guys. Could be wrong? Late |
