human highway...living in the past a little bit? as time goes on, genres of music change, along with what fits into those genres...nowadays, this is hardcore, and bands like minor threat and black flag would be considered punk or hardcore punk...hardcore nowadays comes from metal roots...and i believe that the "socio-political" lyrical content got really old really fast, no one cares or wants to hear it, and if some people do, its not enough to get a steady fan base...the way you do that is sing about stuff that your fans can actually relate to, like emotional stuff...this "government must change" and anti-american (especially nowadays after 9-11) shit got old really fast and no one really cares anymore...why do you think rage against the machine broke up? it just wasnt working anymore ((look at their lyrics)) |
