| Mr. Roger Wilco, I think that what you said is partially true, for some people, the situation they're in might be the best their life is going to get for them, but that doesn't mean that they aren't feeling like shit.... and yeah, you can't blame all your problems on your parents because there are many other factors that play major roles in messing up someone's life, but still... parents can be a big one...and it is good to be prepared for the "real world" because there probably will be a point in everyone's life where they are completely alone.... anyhow, I think this song is great, someone on the radio said Aarons point was for the listeners to turn it up really loud so the parents would hear it (which some of you have already pretty much stated), and my mom was in the car w/ me when the person said that then she played the song and my mom was listening to the words and i think it made her feel bad cuz sometimes she won't listen... anyhow, great song.. | |

| I'm not compeletly sure what this song is about (i like all of your ideas and some of the comments made me giggle.. anyhow....) how i see it is, God is seen as this all-powerful all-knowing thing right? well, that's quite the desireable position to be in (if you're into that sorda thing) and so whatever girl he's with makes him have that... so getting closer to God, i think just means that he's becoming more godlike, and not like he's in the process of believing in God or something because he does say he has an absance of faith, so i don't think he'd be singing about believing then talk about how he has no faith... and yes, that's my opinion | |

| I think it's pretty obvious that it's about someone inflicting physical pain on themselves to see if they can feel anything else besides the pain they're feeling inside.... umm, as for Squall02 and rev.manson.... what you said was pretty insensitive... first off squall, it's not that kids fault that his gf would cut herself, and as for you manson, it's very painful to be in a relationship w/ someone that does that because first, it makes you feel like you aren't good enough to make them feel better, and second, it isn't exaclty easy to watch someone emotionaly dying like that.....annnyhow, great song. | |

| I agree w/ you TweakXM... what you said was very well put....I don't think you should like a band because of how popular or unpopular they are... i think you should like em because they play music that tickles your ears. Anyway, I kinda think it's dumb when you refuse to like a band because teeny boppers like em too... to me sometimes i feel like people are saying well i liked this band first and i didn't get any credit for liking them first so i just won't like them anymore..... well the band is greatful... if it weren't for the original fans they wouldn't be on the radios, so really, its because of the first fans that bands become mainstream.. annnnyway, this is supposed to be about the song, it's beautiful....i love unwritten law, and i have liked them for awhile, it's not because of this song......it gives me chills...i could listen to it forever.. | |

| I know this response is a little late but wow, haha, expressing my opinion about a song in which I happen to mention that i think it's about God somehow evolves into me pushing my religion on everyone...hmm...somehow I don't quite understand...ownpersonaldemon, I'm sorry if you felt that I was pushing my beliefs on you because I wasn't...and I'm also sorry that you're so angry and judgemental...life is gonna suck unless you have fun with it...I don't think you should kill yourself, that would be pretty awful...anyhow, since this discussion is supposed to be about the song, I'll end it, but here is a hug for you ownpersonaldemon *hug* have a nice day! | |

I think, and actually know that this song is about God. For one, when he uses the word "father" he capitalizes it (Father)...he's asking why God abbandoned him, but in my opinion, God NEVER abbandons you, you only abbandon him. Anyway, he also says "Father into your hands, I commend my spirit" that is right out of the book of Luke in the Bible. I do enjoy this song very much, but this guy seems to be angry with God. I think that maybe he's done some not-so-good things in his life and this is sort of his way of asking for forgiveness...?? But also, he is asking God to protect and keep his spirit, that's what commend means...here's the definition from the dictionary: to commit; to deliver; to entrust or put in care of another. So also, it might be like a transition into Christianity cuz he's committing his spirit to God...wow, haha, I've never thought about this song until now, but it's even more awesome than it was before!! At the start of the song (talking about grabbing a brush and putting on make-up) he's talking about hiding your true self...and then with the keys on the table thing, it seems to me that maybe he blames himself for the smallest things...and in this part "I don't think you trust, In, my, self righteous suicide, I, cry, when angels deserve to die, Die," who do you think he's talking to? Is he talking to God? Hmm, I think in the last part...and maybe with the whole angels and suicide parts he's saying that he feels that the way he's acted is causing angels to die...oh goodies!! I like it when i figure stuff out :) anyway, I think I'll stop talkin now...but if anyone wants to, IM me at smacoroni (AIM) bye bye...and anyone out there that doesn't know Jesus, just remember that even if you don't believe in Him, He still believes in you. |
