i stopped reading about 25 comments in, but here's my take on the meaning. i think that he either a) broke up with a girlfriend and then slept with someone else and she left him before he got up. "But my bedsheets shade the heat of choices I've made" that's definitely a sex reference. he then realized how wrong he was and how much he needed his old girlfriend and how much he loved her.
b) he may have cheated on his girlfriend and as a result she left him. his choices were wrong, "Forgive my indecision I am only a man", he realizes he was wrong but wants her to forgive him and accept that he knows he was wrong. he wants her back and is too depressed to do anything about it.
but that's just my humble opinion ;) |

fuck all you stupid little indie kids that get all defensive when a band gets a following. damn you, this band doesn't belong to you. just because people listen after you do doesn't mean that they're not worthy to listen. alkaline trio is so awesome everyone should listen, that means people that don't hear it immediately as well. i hate bitter indie kids. |

august in bethany is so beautiful, i think it's possible to like both songs. i love alkaline trio, this song is so... perfect. i can't go into how many times i've wanted to say this. even times that i've bitterly said through tears, no, i never meant any of it. it's a beautifly deep song. |
