Damn, and I actually did think it was about sex...which is unusual because I actually don't read into that side of things with every song I hear, honest! But yes, sex; the song does have the undertones regarding seizing dreams and the like, but I also think it is partly set in context of two people getting really close and one thing leading to another. They both seem to have doubts, and know that it might be too soon or they'll forget the moment in the future, but they fell in said context they should not wait and just go for it. Sorry to be inadequately emo, but re-read the lyrics, there are some pretty likely metaphors; 'deep enough' i.e. in love, as he tries to persuade her; 'lights will flash and fade away', meaning the rush will go but it will be worth it. Am I really being so crude? |

Amazing. One of those songs you hope never actually applies to you because of what it means, but right now it is reminding me of how much somebody means to me :-) Love the book metaphor; the idea that he has so many memories of this person that even one single page of them would need breaking up and remembering individually. Beautiful. |

| Meaning wise, this seems pretty straightforward, and I've heard better musically, but what the hell, it's sweet, and I'm sure everyone has been in the situation, nervous as anything, unable to stop feelings and hoping for reciprocation. Love the summer imagery in this and much of the album too, cue lots of memories of summer nights and later autumn reminisscing. The female vocals are good too, makes me think it's mutual between them, just to add an extra sweet touch. | |

Hey I agree with what people have said about this song, being about somebody (presumably a girl, from the lyrics, tho people will adapt it to themselves) locking themselves away, appearing happy on the surface but it strikes me there is a fear of commitment, showing emotion and generally something missing in their lives, hence this is what they 'fear', maybe through bad experience or whatever. Anyway, I think this song doesn't just say that, but is more about being forced to confront it, attempting to break down these barriers, I would guess either through being found out via depression or I would like to think someone they like/who likes them and forces them to go to somewhere they have come to fear. Granted, I may have a lil' personal motive for that attitude, but it's how i've come to see the song |

| he he, feels great to be from the town this was written about, it's scarily easy to identify with, hope to see KC go on to great things, my friends band played above them once in a local pub, when they were called 'Parma' and not KC, can't really remember much about it though. Anyway, a Leodenesian is a grammar school boy, Smeaton is probably some old friend they're having a dig at, reckon they're getting at bribary and cover ups with the upper classes. Laters | |

Ok, I dont want to put anyone down, and not knowing the true maning of the song I guess I could be wrong, but this is a really beautiful song, and not in my opinion anything to do with heroin. I've heard coldplay's yellow and a couple of other 'love songs' about wanting someone etc. etc. turned round to be linked with heroin. I guess its a case of interepretation, but for a song truly written about heroin addiction try Sublime - Hope, which also happens to be an amazing song, jut like this one. Later |

I reckon this is about likng someone who you shouldnt because they are bitchy, treat you likedirt etc., but nonetheless u like them. 'You seduce me, you abuse me, you frustrate me and amaze me, ' I reckon she is stringin him along, he gets pissedoff but he still likes her. I reckon he has got things clear in his head now though, and knows which way he has to go. Excuse the his/her thing, but i think neptune has summat to do with greek mythology, so I just made the female connection later |

Great band, I'm surprised they are so unknown, especially here in the Uk, i managed to pick up there first CD for £1, but no actual recrd shops sell it. Please excuse my typing, its pretty lame Anyway, I reckon this is the best song from the albumI have. I have my own idea but what it means; I think its about two very inexperienced people in terms of relationships - hence I was different than the other boys. I think he realises how much he likes this girl though, and she also likes him, and they realise how much fun they are having in each others company. Although they try to avoid each other and dodge the point, I think they finall get togethr, happily ever after, nuff said Later |

Ok, this song rules, never realy decided i liked them before them befre this song, but now they have anothe album sale. Ok, i think this song is about guy who is liking sombody for the second time...possib afte a first relationship failed 'Or do you worry that I try to avoid the point And then deny The time I spent deciding it was you again' ok,so anyay, the guy (damn stereotype, it could be anyone) doesnt think that tellng the prson he likes them again is a good iea, so he keeps them safe in a hiding place, but the woman has picked up on his feelings...hence the line 'Its the only way I feel safe When Im safe in a hiding place (Thats not hidden now)' im not sure if he had told her, or she had sussed him out, but probbly the latter, cos i dont think he got any success from revealing hi feelings, which is why the song is quite depressive. I think the 'facts' bit is her giving reasons why they wont get back together, hence they dont add up to much and he realises when he says 'The more I try The less that plans will help me comprehend again' there, i think ive picked this to death and made no sense, but replies would be good l8r on |
