in case you didn't know, this song is about divorce. it's pretty simple to figure out. even though i personally don't like blink 182 anymore since they've gone more pop than punk, i do have an appreciation for the message of this song, having seen my parents split up when i was still young. divorce is something that totally changes lives and i think blink has caught the idea very well in this song |

i definitely think that this song is about domestic abuse and a person who feels that the only way to escape is suicide. The verse starts with "wakeup" which is basically the start of this person's day, he goes through the routine of hiding his scars and then lies (creates another fable) about "the keys upon the table". The rest of the song describes, i think, how this person feels about suicide and how someone else (the father) is really to blame when this person kills themself. |
