But anyways. This song is soo awesome. This is really emo but this morning I was driving to school and I was listening to it and thinking about stuff and just the results of death and how it says, "The time it takes, the time it takes to let go." Just hit me. I got tears in my eyes. Like I didn't even know it was about someone dieing until I saw them live for the 2nd time and he said that. This band makes such beautiful music and if you ever can, see them live, it's amazing.
It's awesome that he can be so open about his losses, The song Porcelain is also about his friend who died. He told us this at a show, he said that this guy he was friends with was a pscitsofrenic (i cannot spell that) and he bought a gun without them giving him a background check, and he killed himself.
It's sad. But the outcome is beautiful music. |

this song is something that everyone can relate to. We all know what it's like to have your friends and your hangouts be the most important thing in life and then one day you wake up and realize that you're fighting with all your friends and your pride wont let you back down, and that you've gotta go your own way from the people you still can rely on or you'll be a "lemming to the sea" and have no real life of your own. |

Yes. I read that article. The song makes perfect sense. I've had people try and use this song as reason why Saves The Day isn't a good band. I simply think (or say) that they obviously can't read into meaings of writing. It's not about an obsessive homocidal boy. It's like it's saying I might as well kill you to show you that you're killing yourself. I think that this song and At Your Funeral are a lot alike in the sense of violently displaying someones self-destructive behavior. Kind of like a wake up call. I love it. I think it's beautiful. I love how Chris always has the power to take violent situations and sing them happily to show that it's all symbolic. He's brilliant. He should marry me. |
