Oh man, I just wasted about 10-20 minutes of my life reading most the posts on this song. Some people need to grow up. I'm not sure how it's even possible to compare a band to another band and still call one of the two original. I mean, is TBS really as similar to Thursday as people think? Only as much as Ozma is as similar to Weezer or as similar as any two bands on Epitaph, Drive-Thru or Vagrant are to each other. 'Props' to whoever the person was that said "bitch about not liking a band with people who agree with you".
It's kind of sad when there's maybe one or two posts about the meaning of this song on a site named SongMeanings.net.

I'm thinking this song is about an older relative (grandfather or uncle perhaps) or even an old friend who is near-death. It saddens and him to go visit Jack but at the same time it makes him happy because he's in good and noble company, hence Jack the Lion. |

This is perhaps one of the greatest songs of all time. Sadly, Bradley foreshadowed his own death with this song. Its unfortunate he knew he'd most likely die due to his drug use but yet he seemingly couldn't stop. |

The lyrics to this song never really sunk in before now. It's about a guy breaking up with his girlfriend, finding it extremely hard and then sort of regretting it because he doesn't feel the same without her. I'm going through a similar ordeal in real life, and it's harder than I thought it would be. |

There's not any word in the English language to describe the songs on the So Impossible EP. I've been a Dashboard fan from the beginning and I'm not sure if any of his previous music comes cloes to the emotions contained in this EP.
This song has a special meaning to me though ever since I saw Chris perform it in concert in Olympia. Right before Chris began on the second verse, a guy shouted out "Work sucks!". It was a great memory.
For all of you that haven't seen Dashboard in concert I suggest you do, its worth your time. It was one of the best nights of my life, the whole concert was engrossing and emotional, just what I would expect from a genuine emo artist. |

This is a great song about dealing with all of the crap in life and the stupid thing people do and just wanting to literally explode at some times. It's one of my favorites from Make Yourself and is a good song to crank up and sing aloud to. |
