i thought starla was another woman's daughter not denise? oh well...the song is definitely my favorite ataris song on SLA... he's hoping that starla will be able to forgive him someday for always being on tour and working and not being with her..he wanted to prove that he did want starla around and he knows what its like not having a dad always... |

| The song is amazing, one of my favorites on the album. its definitely about moving on after having your family torn apart....the only part i dont get is the 'As I leave here today, apartment 108' ...in all the pictures i've seen of Kris as a kid, he had a house...so why would he being leaving an apartment? | |

Bonehead(Familiar48) are one of the best things comming out of Philly (woO! go hometown bands)...they're amazing to see live... i love this song (and their song I know) because parts of it are like a relationship i'm in right now...'And she falls down trying Yeah she falls down crying And she tells me that she does it all for me' is basically what i'm doing for this guy but he knows he should care(i think...its a complicated thing he and i have) but he doesn't...or doesn't show it...i dont know i just relate to that girl though! |

Exactly EvilCrushedPopCan....it doesn't matter what genre it is, as long as you like it then its good. Its the way I love Something Corporate(woO SoCoFan!) but i also listen to Blake Shelton and Marah(a local Philly band).. From the offical site its pronounced, "uh-TAR-ess"...like the gaming system but with an 's'... I always thought the song was about Starla 'cept he changed her name to Angie either to protect her(hey, my dads a musican and he wrote a song about me and i HATE IT) or because he originally wanted her name to be Angie/ela...i dunno...thats my opinion |

This is my all-time favorite Ataris song (and i'm pathetic, i have every song on mp3, every cd and a couple of tapes just for my car...all of ataris...Kris is an amazing song writer and vocalist).. but yea the meaning for me? i think this guy just falls for a girl who doesn't want him as a boyfriend or anything...so he deals and says fine i'll be your friend but i'll always love you....i dunno...i'm probably wrong |

I think its about Kris's Mom or mother-figure like person....he was writing it as he was looking back at their relationship together but slipping into the memories....if you've ever read Little Girl Fly Away by Gene Stone(?) you know what i'm talking about....but the person was taken out of his life and she's back now and she's worried that he might hate her because of the past but Kris is saying that he doesn't care about the past mistakes. The line about jumping could be like jumping into being his 'mother' again...he could also be reasurring her that she wasn't the only one who made mistakes and that other people are putting up a facade ('tried to make a piece of coal into a diamond') and hoping that it would become something real. |

I agree with Punkchica (so YOU took my first choice of a name -.- ....its aiight) and Concept....well i have a problem downloading some SoCo songs...like I want to Save You, If I die and a few others, its just the looped verision...some reason, i think its because they're on Leaving through the Window...even though i dont have any logic for that.... But i agree with Punk and the part about never getting set free is how i feel when i write now, its like whatever i say is just a word off and it screws the meaning around...yah know? |

I love this song...just the way he sings the songs...he believes them (duh of course he does) and that is what makes or breaks a song...i love the way he sings "Please tell me that you're just feeling tired cause if its more than that I feel that I might break out of touch, out of time. Please send me anything but signals that are mixed, cause I can't read your rolling eyes. out of touch, are we out of time?" It just reminds me of any relationship...not nessicarily romantic and how you get to a point where its so routine....i dunno |
