I saw this song performed live acoustic today, and right before it started up Josey said, this song is about guys who abusive guys. So, I'm thinking that if you throw in the schizophrenia and an abusive boyfriend who gets pushed over the edge, and you've got Always... Great song, amazing live. |

Well, some people think this is about a relationship. I think a lot of it points to a relationship, but I think it could be about life, but interchangeable. I think the knowledge or wisdom that he holds inside is a deep pain. And how it says it may end a life, is how he thinks it may drive him to suicide. I think the pain is also the damage, possibly leading to where the title comes into play. These feelings that no one should have to harbor, could be considered his excess baggage. Either way, I think this is a great song. I can definitely relate. |
