i dont think there is a pop punk. i call it mtv punk. its a term i use to describe "punk" bands that support having regular radio and tv play, and do everything they can to get even more popular, like blink 182 or good charlotte. i understand they have to make a steady pay check, but come on, theres such a thing as "money hungry." im not saying the musics bad, im just saying that punk has never been like this. theres more punk bands then ever now. and theres never been punk bands that are popular. that isnt punk and it never will be. the term punk never changed cause punk is still here. suicide machines, rancid, millencolin, theyre all punk. just now theres mtv punk. to bad, but oh well. |
