Person L – Storms Lyrics

I think the song is about finding love in the music again. He went through so much shit with The Starting Line where he lost the love he had for music while trying to conform to what labels wanted and what everyone else wanted rather than just playing the music he loved (getting good love, but throwing it away). Now, with Person L, he's getting to make the music he wants (now it's letting up). I think the 'getting high by myself' verse is really about playing music alone but needing that big picture to feel whole again. Sure, this song can be applied to relationships or whatever, but knowing Kenny's situation, I think it's most applicable to music. i think Kenny's done making generic relationship songs. This one's about more than just that. |

The Fold – Faster Still Lyrics

A friend of mine and I interviewed Daniel for a website we were working on, and he said that the album title is a reference to his mother's death.
Apparently, after Daniel's mother died, the family found out that she'd been suffering from cancer and never told her family. Thus the title "Secrets Keep You Sick".
This song definitely makes sense in regards to this theme. I love it. |

My Favorite Highway – How To Call A Bluff Lyrics

I think when the singer sings that he's calling this girl's bluff. he's saying he doesn't believe her when she says that it's over. That's why he's not letting go of everything. |

Say Anything – I Want To Know Your Plans Lyrics

FallenForYou,
I also got that connection. I wouldn't say Christianity though because I believe at least some of the boys are Jewish, but I definitely see the religion in this song.
The theme of forgiveness, the mentioning of taking the lashing (like Christ did when being crucified), and his belief in something that keeps him believing. While I ultimately believe that it is about a girl, I think the religious undertones are there on purpose. Maybe sort of a way of saying both a love for a girl and love for Jesus can help... just love in general can help save. |

Unless they changed the title for the album, the title of the song is "Never Ready." That's how it was listed on their MySpace when it was up earlier this month. |

Fall Out Boy – This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race Lyrics

This is the worst song FOB has ever written and released. It is loaded with tired cliches... loading someone with words as weapons? Heard it before. Asking the 'forgotten' boys and girls to scream until their lungs give? Heard it before. As a huge FOB fan, I'm truly saddened by this awful song.
Not only are the lyrics ridiculously cliche and stupid, but the whole song as a concept is stupid. Brashnhopeful got it exactly right... this song is battling the kids who come onto the MTV punk scene, but a song written like this with lyrics like this will be played in clubs and on MTV for months. And these fuckin' kids that just listen to it because it's different won't listen to the lyrics. They'll hear 'scream until your lungs give' and think 'WOW these guys make me want to dance' and it's pathetic.
I hate this song. I hate what FOB has become. It's pathetic. |

Paramore – My Heart Lyrics

The background screaming sounds a lot like Spencer Chamberlain of underOATH to me, which would fit due to the religious implications of the song going hand in hand with underOATH's faith. |

Dan Sweatt – Cinema Lyrics

By far one of my most favorite songs I ever wrote... I wanted a song I could use in my life personally time after time, and the only thing to do in my town sometimes seems to be going to the movies... this song reminds me of every trip to the movies I spent with a girl who broke my heart... |

This is Dan Sweatt... I wrote this song last summer about a girl who I was close friends with and we started to fight over feelings we had for each other... people would always ask me if we were still friends and it hurt like hell to say that we weren't or that I got turned away |
