Nickelback – Curb Lyrics 23 years ago
Hey, this is from a Chad Kroeger interview a few days ago, hopefully it will give some enlightenment to you all.

Curb
The album and title track were named in tribute to Kroeger's friend Kirby, who suffered through the kind of heartbreak, trauma and tragic violence that exemplified the emotions of grunge. Kroeger's then-17-year-old friend was dating a 16-year-old girl who lived in the country, and one night he snuck out of his house and hopped in his truck to surprise her.

"He came over a hill in the middle of nowhere on a dirt gravel road and had a head-on collision with a car," Kroeger recalled. "He stumbled out of the car bleeding and bashed up pretty bad, and he opened up the [door of the other] car, and it's his girlfriend. She snuck out at the same time, was going to see him and he killed her on the back of a dirt road. I tried to imagine what they could possibly feel like, and that's where that song comes from."

That's one sad story, and it is incredible how Kroeger molded the lyrics to form the story.

Ok, celine dion sucks ass. This woman can't sing worth shit, and if you are really desperate for a Canadian band or singer, go see Nickelback, they kick ass, and make celine dion look like an anorexic twit who got where she is because the titanic crowd kisses her ass for writing that shitty song they played non-stop for two years. elnino, I feel so very sorry for you, having to listen to that shit everyday.

Nickelback – How You Remind Me Lyrics 23 years ago
I love this song, period. Say whatever you want about Chad and the rest of them, but it is different for christ sake!!!!!!!! Go out and buy the fucking album, or check it out from the library, they are NOT JUST A ONE HIT WONDER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Listen to the other songs, Hollywood, etc. these guys have potential for something greater. I hate the teeny-bopper music which is played today (britney spears, nsync, etc.)and you know what? if they are going to go out and buy Silver Side Up, Curb, or The State, I say the more power to them, it shows that they have brains in their heads, and that someday, they will get a clue, and go buy decent music!!!!!!!! For all you people who think that Nickelback isn't true rock, I hate to tell you, but the face of rock is changing, dramattically, and if you want to stay with the mainstream, stay tuned for more Nickelback songs, and the like. This guys are incredible, and fuck you if you don't like them!!!!!!!! LONG LIVE NICKELBACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Warm Tape Lyrics 23 years ago
Like all the new songs on By The Way, the lyrics are almost nonsense when they are read, and they take on a new, fresh meaning when you hear them. This song is gorgeous, and Anthony's voice counterbalanced by the rest of the Chili Peppers ensures that it will be a favorite for a large number of people, not just myself.

Creed – One Last Breath Lyrics 23 years ago
ok, to all you Creed=Christian Rock=only Christians like them. I am an atheist, and I love Creed, not just for their lyrics (which are like reading beautiful poetry) but for Stapp's gorgeous voice, Tremonti's guitar-work, and the fact that I can relate to where these people are coming from. I was once suicidal, and have since "found the light" and decided that life, more or less is worth living. Part of that revelation came from my boyfriend, the other, from Creed's My Own Prison, (I love that song, and during my time of darkness, I found solace in it). Since first seeing and listening to Creed's One Last Breath, I have seriously compared it to the whole suicide fator, and believe it or not, Shakepeare's Hamlet "To be or not to be..." soliliquy. for all of you who don't know Hamlet very well, I have copied the soliliquy followed my Creed's lyrics below. They are oddly similiar...
HAMLET To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscover'd country from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pith and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action.--Soft you now!
The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons
Be all my sins remember'd.
-Hamlet 3.1 61-96

One Last Breath

Please come now I think I'm falling
I'm holding on to all I think is safe
It seems I found the road to nowhere
And I'm trying to escape
I yelled back when I heard thunder
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me say

Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
That maybe six feet
Ain't so far down

I'm looking down now that it's over
Reflecting on all of my mistakes
I thought I found the road to somewhere
Somewhere in His grace
I cried out heaven save me
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me say

Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
That maybe six feet
Ain't so far down

Sad eyes follow me
But I still believe there's something left for me
So please come stay with me
'Cause I still believe there's something left for you and me
For you and me
For you and me

Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking.
-Scott Stapp, Creed

Oddly similar, huh?
