Dredg – Same Ol' Road Lyrics 20 years ago
to me this song is about striving for a gulided lifestyle, i.e. the "American Dream" lifestyle, and either failing hard because of it, or realizing you can't get it. through that realization you find that you don't need all the glitter on life everyone strives to have, but all you need is that "modest house in a modest neighborhood....etc."
darkd0g3 is worried on the "though we bleed, we must push on..." part, to me its about pushing on despite your dissapointment or depression from falling hard in life, whether striving for that American Dream life or something else, just pushing on and surpassing those terrible events in your past

Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody Lyrics 21 years ago
Italian Phaethon knocked onto a point many of you are forgetting. Do any of you know what a "rhapsody" is? it is a short opera-like story set to music. Yes this is a short mock-opera. Most rhapsodies have 3 movemtens, sometimes more. There is the opening movment realizing he's killed a man then next is him talking to his mother, the secondis the trial, the third is his anger at those who judged him. all in all this is just a mock-opera, a story set to music. I have never met any of the remaining members of Queen so i can't say if freddy told them a true meaning, but as so far, this is the meaning i see.

Deadsy – The Key to Gramercy Park Lyrics 22 years ago
i want to clear up something that has bothered the fucking shit out of me forever since i read all your opinions.its already been cleared up that Jay Gordon of Orgy (great fucking band) was their bass player and not their lead singer. and also, its Orgy thats the rip off. Deadsy formed in the end of '93, orgy formed i believed in the end of '97. i'm not sure but i know for sure they weren't around before '96. so to summerize, Orgy ripped off Deadsy because of Jay Gordon's influences while in his short stint with Deadsy, Deadsy was the original. i hope thats cleared it up. thank you, fuck off.

Pink Floyd – Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2 Lyrics 22 years ago
one confirmed meaning of the song is a kind of battle cry i guess agains the british school system, which is very controlling, very strict and disciplinarian. i mean kids have killed themselves at such young ages as like 5 or 6 because of that school system.

Dave Matthews Band – Proudest Monkey Lyrics 22 years ago
i'm with crazygmofpkr19 its a very very simple meaning, its about the evolution of monkeys to humans! humans think they're better than "primative" monkeys and such, but they are our origins, we're just prouder monkeys

Orgy – Re-Creation Lyrics 22 years ago
it sounds to me like it's about people who hide their faults and evilness through religion, or justify their actions and demeanor by religion, and others like the one who created the "realigion" follow knowing their faults and find a way to justify it through the religion. But...the other people (the "We" in the song) can see through the lies and hypocracy.

Pink Floyd – Wish You Were Here Lyrics 22 years ago
i respect everyone's opinion. but let me clear up some stuff...it was originally written as (like many of their songs) as an ode to Syd Barret. it was saying "Syd, i wish you were here." i don't know about the whole writting history of this song but i can almost garauntee that Roger Waters, the one who missed Syd most of the band, probably wrote it, or in conjunction with David Gilmour. also it wasn't the drugs that fucked him up, they only added to the problem. he was already for years very very mentally unstable (or crazy for those with limited vocabulary) . he left the band, realeased his own album, and went through 2 mental instiutions and lived with his mother afterwards for many years after leaving the institutions. he IS alive and lives outside of Cambridge. he recently gave an interview, didn't say much. also i heard he doesn't like to be called "Syd", that he usually says "call me roger"
