i definatly agree. This is the best dream theater song and one of the greatest songs of all time (in my opinion). It is a masterpiece and I am very suprised that most people i play it for hate it, and even more suprised that most people haven't heard of dream theater at all |

Blur is my favourite band, and has been since the release of their self titled. Yes, i say that blur has had many hits, but all of them were in England. The only blur songs ive ever heard in America are Girls and Boys, Song 2, and Coffee and Tv. And yes, blur is a great band, and very versitile, all of their alblums are different. Their self titled is my favourite, Beetlebum or Country Sad Ballad Man are my favourite blur songs. |

As this song may appear to be easy to unwravel, i don't think it is. I think that this is possibly one of the most complex lyric that i have ever seen. I can some meaning in a couple of ways, but seem to cancel eachother out. It could be, that Blur was taking a definitive change in the style of their music at the time, and is putting it in peoples faces and telling them to battle or to step down. It could also be about fame ( especially the first verse ). The three verses, could be his (Damon's) interpretations of fame. When Blur first came out, he loved the fame ( 1st verse ), then the band started to fight and almost broke up during The Great Escape era and they all hated eachother and Damon thought they were all jealous ( 2nd )..now, he doesn't care about fame and is about to step down from the limelight ( 3rd ). The chorus could mean that people should stop caring about the band and such matters and find their own problems to deal with. Just my interpretation........ |

When Thom worked in a mental hospital, I think he himself went a little crazy. He stopped caring about anything, epecially people. He might put on some fascade of caring, but really wouldn't have cared if the entire world population died on his account. This song is his way of showing what he thought, like most songs are. |
