It's funny how Chino says the shade is a Tool and he did "Passenger" with Maynard from Tool. I only noticed this because anytime anyone says "tool" i think of the band. I am mentally ill.

Definitely man, this song is about Maynard's mom, he co-wrote the lyrics which means he probably wrote some on his own. I think this is about Maynard's mother because first of all, the name. Second, he says he was raised in a very strict household and the lyrics show he is angry at his mother for never questioning her religious actions and beliefs, she never went outside the lines of reason ("never taste of the fruit" etc.). It also sounds like it's at the end of her life and she is sick ("never thought to question why") He is saying look how you were religious and you followed the rules and your Dogma didn't keep you safe and you're sick, you didn't kill jesus, you didn't betray him, if he did everything for you, why are you sick? I presume she is sick because she was only 60 years old when she died which is relatively young. I also say this because in the song 'Orestes" Maynard sings: "one more medicated moment". I think his mother developped the illness during the writing of this album and at least those two songs are based around her. "Judith" is a song to Maynard's mother where he asks his mother: although you devoutly followed your laws and never "tasted the fruit", and yet you are still "broken down and paralyzed". His rules and your beliefs have abandoned you, you will not question why they have done so, and it inspires him not to live like that. Quite frank;y that's dead on, think it's wrong and please write otherwise.

Holy sweet shit Chris the lead singer sounds like the not so one and only voice of Maynard of Tool. Tool is the best band of all time and shall rule all forever. Earshot is good but not similar to Tool. Even the voice differs from Maynards in some songs. it really only sounds alike in "Get Away". Oh ya instrument wise/riffs, Earshot is nothing simply because Danny Carrey is a God and Adam fukcs you wit his guitar. They do kick ass and although they are not as origional as Tool because their lyrics are not exactly based around anal fisting and occult , but Earshot is definitly better than the rest of the shit bag rock bands out there!!

I think AEnima is really about the choice of abortion. If you watch the video, you'll see a big fat guy in a suit with little hands. This seems to me that it's about a grown person who makes child like descisions. Then you can aslo see some sort of fetus thing that metal box which symbolizes to me the womb. Then at the end of the video he throws around the "womb". Also when he says the only way to fix it is to flush it all away, i think that is a reference to an abortion. I think this song is really about the society today and the way people act, about the insewcure actresses and all the stupid fucks who compose our society, the only way out is before you are born to be aborted. I think the song is the point of view of the fetus saying he wants to die before he sees this shit, also when Maynard say mom's gonna fix it all soon. That's waht I think
