I dunno about the first two, but I know ebony is a synonym for black. Crossed a river of salt could be the Dead Sea...but it's a sea not a river...so I dunno. I tried and failed miserably...sorry. |

this has to be my favorite shakira song. i have been a huge fan for a long time, but this song remains my favorite (though i do enjoy estoy aqui). personally, i like both versions pretty much equally. I don't understand why you say the lyrics don't make sense though Tracy (not to rag on you or anything). She's just saying she has traveled to so many places and seen so many things, but she has never seen anyone who can match up to the person she is speaking to in the song. Some of the lyrics might not make perfect sense because it is translated though (did i just contradict myself...*sigh*). |

Dude..."it's not their fault corporate assholes are making money off of their music"?! They are the ones who went to those corporate assholes and let them make money off of their music for one! And as aicguy22 said, there is better stuff out there...so much better. A.K.A stuff that isn't written with a specific goal in mind (ahem...make money off of clueless teeenagers). The majority of pop songs are written with a formula...notice how they all say the same thing just with different words? Okay...anyway...I can't believe I just wasted 2 minutes of my time...*N SYNC sucks. |

No comments on this song!? Ahhhh! My nicname-sake!! I am so in love with David Bowie. My daddy is a big fan and he would always listen to Bowie's stuff in the car and such when I was little and yay! He says that this is my song because I don't like to wear dresses (mmeh...so uncomfortable, but for special occasssions I will suffer), I always manage to piss my mom off and I'm my own person. Thus this has to be one of my favorite Bowie songs...along with China Girl and Let's Dance and...ahhh...I could go on forever. |

the first time i heard this song i almost cried. since then i have totally fallen in love with it. i'm not a big our lady peace fan (not in the sense that i don't like them, but i haven't heard much of their stuff) but i loooove this song and it makes me want to hear more. |
