The Wallflowers – 6th Avenue Heartache Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I went to the website where Jacob made a comment on this song. He says the song was inspired by a homeless guy that played guitar on the doorsteps of a building accross the street from where he lived. He says that he related to that homeless guy in the sense that even with the obvious social class differences, they both lived through their music. "Below me was a homeless man I'm singin' songs I knew complete On the steps alone, his guitar in hand It's fifty years, stood where he stands " It's actually a very literal part of the song. The homeless man later dissapeared from the doorsteps but left all his stuff: "Look out the window, down upon that street And gone like a midnight was that man But I see his six strings laid against that wall And all his things, they all look so small" Just like Jacob, the homeless man moved on with his life, but he hopes that the stranger is doing well wherever he is. The Wallflowers – I've Been Delivered Lyrics | 21 years ago |
It's about someone who's left home to go on a journey and can't return home until he's found what he's looking for. Trouble is, he has no idea what he's really looking for. That's the general interpretation anyway, I can't really decipher the lyrics. Great song though. |
Third Eye Blind – Wounded Lyrics | 22 years ago |
"Still my fingers catch the sparks at the thought of Them touching you" "Back down the bully to the back of the bus Cause it's time for them to be scared of us" The singer is trying to convince this girl to come out of hiding and resume her life. But I think he's also telling her how angry he is with whoever assaulted her. He wishes he could have stopped it and he also wishes he could make them pay |

Guided by Voices – Hold On Hope Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I first heard this song on an episode of Scrubs where Brendan Fraiser has Lukemia. It's such a great song I nealy cried and I still get goosebumbs everytime I hear it. I'm suprised I never heard it on the radio before. I'm even more suprised no one's made a coment on it yet. |

Nine Days – Absolutely (Story Of A Girl) Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This song reminds me a girl I thing for in highschool. She was a nice and friendly person who was quick to smile but whenever she was by herself she always looked kinda sad. I ended up asking this girl to the prom and later when she couldn't go I offered to keep her company. Her exact words were: "No thank you, I have my boyfriend with me." No hard feelings Belen, I'm just sorry you didn't get to go. |

I especially like the base solo at the end |
Styx – Mr. Roboto Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Thank you very much, Mr. Roboto For doing the jobs that nobody wants to And thank you very much, Mr. Roboto For helping me escape just when I needed to Here's what I know: A) Mr. Robotos are used for manual labor in the world which the song takes place. And B) Kilroy escapes prison by subdoing a Mr. Roboto unit and puts on its armor covering in order to pass off as one. I haven't seen it in a while but if you read the album cover it has the whole story. Also, does anyone know what "Domo arigato" means? |
P.O.D. – Youth Of The Nation Lyrics | 22 years ago |
