I've read a few of the pages on this song and there are some very interesting interpretations. I just think it's great that this song can mean so many different things to different people. To Me, I agree that this song is about 2 people who are together, who are forced to go their separate ways by the paths their lives have taken. I think it is about wanting to escape the reality of what has happened by running away together. I know we'll make it anywhere Away from here Plants the seed that they could go anywhere they wanted Light up, light up As if you have a choice Wants her to give him a glimmer of hope that they could actually do it Even if you cannot hear my voice I'll be right beside you dear Realizes its a pipe dream, back to reality Louder, louder And we'll run for our lives I can hardly speak I understand Why you can't raise your voice to say This is the stanza that really made me think that it was about running away together. When he says "louder louder", its like say the word, and we'll run for our lives together. And then he's saying he's speechless and that it's hard to talk, but he wants her to say it so bad Slower, slower We don't have time for that All I want is to find an easier way To get out of our little heads Have heart my dear We're bound to be afraid Even if it's just for a few days Making up for all this mess. These lyrics are missing the top stanza, i don't know if there are different versions, but I think it is also very telling. When he says, get out of our little heads, to me it means, and into our hearts. Practicallity is telling us that we have to do this, but we need to get into our hearts. I love how it ends with I'll be right beside you dear. They had to follow their respective paths.. This song is just absolutely wonderful. So simple, so personal but so multidimensional. An excellent example of what I think music should be about. |

| I don't think this song is about a guy. I think it's about a girl who looses her light. Maybe light's not the best word for it..but that quality that someone has, that just brightens up the room when they walk in..I think thats what this song is about "can you lend me your shimmer, man? I need a brand new glow" I think the writer feels like they lost their sparkle and they feel the need to regain it..or something :D just my take on it... | |

| So co is a great band and they're songs are amazing but sometimes you just gotta have a little fun. I think thats what this song is about. Its fun. Its not overly deep and emotional though it is about a situation that most everyone can identify. Its still good stuff. | |
