i've also heard, like theprynce, that the song is about a serial killer, but i still cannot accept that meaning- to me the song clearly states the obsurdity of life- "into this house we're born, into this world we're thrown" when we're born, we have no knowledge or experience of the way the world we're about to live in works |

"break on through" is definitely about breaking through to the other side of consciousness by taking drugs... "chased our pleasures/ dug our treasures"... not to mention the common notion that drugs are an escape- "tried to run, tried to hide" but the most obvious reference to me is "made the scene, week to week, day to day, hour to hour" because that's how the drug life goes |

just to annoyingly correct u2, Kreiger actually wrote "Light My Fire" not jimbo. And just to state my view on the song, to me Light my fire is about the passion of the night life in LA in the 60's (the doors' time) and trying to "set the night on fire" whether it be by drugs, sex, or rock and roll (the 3 most vital resources in life) |
